The Originals City, Hôtel du Château

We stayed here for three nights during a kid's soccer tournament. The location is great, within walking of restaurants, stores, history, and the river. The staff is very friendly and the room was clean and fresh. This was a very nice stay for us and we would definitely stay here again.

Stopped here for one night during a short break in France to see the Tour de France. The room was decorated and furnished to a high standard and nice and cool considering it was 30+ outside. Bathroom had the important feature of a good shower. All kept nice and clean too. Owners and staff very friendly. They even took the trouble to contact me when my daughter left her mobile phone in her room. Highly recommended.

Good value hotel well located. However hotel was closed on arrival at about 4pm with sign saying reception not open till 6pm. This was very disappointing. Check in times were not made clear at time of booking.

Small family hotel. Room was not very big, but it was clean and comfortable. Location was great as it was only a short walk to shops, bars and very good restaurants. Staff were very friendly.

Inter-Hotel du Chateau is a great hotel - perfect location for Mayfest... The castle is just a few steps away and lots of wonderful eating places nearby... The staff are very friendly and helpful.... We would recommend this to our friends and hope to stay there again if we are in that part of France.

This is a very pleasant 2 star hotel in Pontivy, within easy walking distance of the main attractions. It's situated on one of the main roads into town, but for all that it's not too noisy usually (although during our stay they were demolishing the building opposite to give us a better river view!). You can walk a couple of hundred metres along the road to an excellent selection of restaurants and shops. The hotel itself has obviously had some refurbishment work carried out recently, to good effect. The rooms are quite basic but comfortable, the bed was good but would be vastly improved by replacing the pillows, which were cheap and lumpy. The bedding was okay but more cotton would be cooler and more comfortable in the summer.The bathroom was spacious and immaculately clean. The breakfast was fresh and good value, and can be served in your room if you wish. During our stay the bar was closed for most of the time, which was a shame as we would have been happy to spend a bit more time there, and it would have been helpful if tea and coffee making facilities were provided in the room whilst there was no bar available, as this meant we had to leave the hotel for a cup of tea every time the need arose. Not ideal really. However, overall the hotel is clean and very presentable, the staff are polite and helpful, you can park outside the door for free, and everything you need is practically on the doorstep. For a budget stay in Pontivy, this is a good safe bet and we would stay again.
