M Suites Sorrento

The view, it was all a bit old fashioned but clean and functional.

The patio area was shaded and nice. We enjoyed the AC for a break from the heat. The hostess at the property was great. It had all the amenities we needed for our time there.

A shuttle to the sister property (Hotel Mediterraneo, Sorrento) would have been really helpful in the heat. Learning about the shuttle from Hotel Mediterraneo, Sorrento to downtown Sorrento would have been helpful to know about, we only were told this the night we were leaving and the walk is long in the heat. Better assistance with parking would have been nice, it was very tricky to locate, as there was no signage on the road itself.

It was more difficult to have to go to another hotel to check in and then proceed to M Suites. We were not advised of this until after we booked. When taxis are so expensive in Sorrento it just adds more to the cost.

The location was beautiful and very peaceful but again with not understanding the layout of Sorrento we didn’t realise how steep and long the walk was into the main piazza. A taxi is very expensive to go up and back each way each day.

Euro 25 taxi fare to AND from the town!!! Only 3 km, too steep to walk, so we were stuck with the blood price for the taxi. We managed to talk nicely to a nearby hotel, we used their town shuttle a few times for free. The traffic in town was insane. Scooters zigzaging everywhere by the millions.

Lots of space, fantastic views, easy access to town

M Suites is a beautiful, super well kept property with gorgeous views of the Bay. Our apartment was perfectly and elegantly furnished and had everything we needed and more. It is a short, very pleasant walk into the centre of Sorrento and not far from the sister hotel, Hotel Mediterraneo, which is definitely worth visiting - we used the swimming pool and had an evening on the rooftop (special thanks to the staff for making our daughter’s birthday so memorable and especially to Pina, who is probably the best hotel staff member we’ve ever come across!).

I booked for the view and location and it was both amazing. It would be perfect for a family or a couple. Francesco, the host, was very helpful. He was always checking up on us whether we were comfortable or needed anything else during the stay. The location is in between Sorrento and St. Angelo, so it was perfect to get around, especially if you have to take the train you can pretty much walk to both stations. However, the area has a lot of uphill so if you have a car or a Vespa it would be easier to get around for sure.

The only thing was when I checked in I had to go to a separate location, which I thought was a walkable distance but it wasn't. I had to take a cab to the hotel and again to the property, when again all I did at the hotel was paying for the city tax. So you I could I would rather pay the tax somehow virtually through Bookings.com, and go straight to the property. Cabs in Sorrento are not cheap and it will start from 30 euros, and it felt a bit of work to stop by the hotel after a long train ride from Rome. Other than that everything else was better than I expected and I enjoyed my stay very much.

Stunning view from the Balcony! Nice and quiet area. The walk from Sorrento center up to the villa was really nice and worth the effort! Bring a rucksack for grocery shopping. If you want to explore the Amalfi coast and the beautiful pitoresk villages there we do recomend to rent a small car - maybe a Fiat 500 to get the Italian vibe!

Would be great with a coffemaker machine in the Villa. Everything else was great!
