Essque Zalu Zanzibar

It was such a nice experience! The staff was really friendly, the food was diverse. The room was clean and comfortable. Good location of the hotel. We enjoyed a pleasant and relaxing stay in this hotel!

We stayed at this hotel as a group of 14 pax and I must say it felt like a little peace of heaven. The hotel itself has well manicured gardens and is located right by the ocean. Although it does not have a beach front, we enjoyed the privacy it brought and beautiful views, couldn't trade this for anything. The highlights of our stay was the food which was fresh and very tasty, evening entertainment at dinner, morning activities by the hotel, the Jetti which is built right on the water and became our favorite hangout. The hotel is very lively, yet peaceful. A quick mention of personnel who made our stay very enjoyable: Lindy, the Sales Manager who help organize and coordinate a surprise birthday for my hubby. She even helped me contract external service providers added value to our event. Maureen was a great host, she is such a happy soul and very hospitable. Rajad made us fall inlove with the Jetti, and he also made sure we had a beautiful birthday cake. Overall, my team and I enjoyed our stay at this hotel and would definately recommend any type of traveler to stay here. We felt rested and refreshed. We will definately come back!

A 5‑star cliff‑side resort offering sweeping ocean views, vast infinity pools, lush gardens, two stylish bars, and refined dining areas. It has very beautiful views , we took great photos and spectacular pool breakfast at very affordable rates. The rooms were great and we also enjoyed the long bridge that goes across the ocean . Will definitely be back soon.

Lively hotel, with great staff in an idyllic location, with a restaurant at the end of the pier in the sea. Its a very quiet setting and its not a big hotel (like we are used to in all inclusive turkey and egypt resorts) The hotel is located by the sea but its not practical to use their coral beach (the sea is very rough). They organise a free shuttle to kendwa beach. Although you do have to pay 10$ per person to access the private beach of the partner hotel, you can use that credit to pay for food and drinks etc so it worked out fine. Staff were really helpful, especially Maureen, who helped us when we had problems with a failed tour that we had organised via get your guide. She was calm and helpful. One of the waiters saw that we were intrigued by bao bao and he went to the effort or preparing and packing a portion from his tree at home. Matteo took us on an informative local village tour, where we saw the fish market and also some locals building a boat. We had a great water polo game with Matteo and his team too! Before we started the trip, we upgraded to a superior garden suite for $250 for 5 nights and we were supposed to pay at the end of our stay. The hotel kindly waived the upgrade fee! Food was tasty and evening entertainment was great. We had half board and just paid for lunch. Pricing was reasonable for a hotel. Overall, a great hotel with great staff.

We had a great time atbthus hotel. The Pool is excellent. The food was great, a lot of variety .the staff was extremely hospital The only thus we were lacking is an accesable beach. But the hotel is arranging 3 times a day a shattel to a near by beach

The rooms were nice, the service was excellent and food was great. Every night had cultural dancers. I would definitely return. I also highly recommend.

Essque Zalu was the perfect solo escape. The staff made me feel so welcome from the moment I arrived. The views are absolutely stunning, especially at sunset by the infinity pool. My room was spacious, spotless, and so peaceful. Loved dining at the jetty restaurant — fresh seafood with the ocean breeze is unbeatable. I felt safe, relaxed, and completely pampered. Can’t wait to come back!

Very family friendly place. Pool , beach access (in the morning when tide is low), restaurants, everything was great. Breakfast and dinner was part of the hotel stay which was amazing. Would come back again.
