Property Notes

Parents or a legal guardian traveling with children under 18 years must present the child's birth certificate and an identity card with photo (passport, for example) at the check-in. For international travels to Brazil, if just one of the parents is traveling with the child, she/he must present – in addition to the child's certificate of birth and identity card with photo – a letter authorizing the trip signed by the other parent with a notarial certification of signature. In case the parents or the legal guardian, as applicable, cannot or are unwilling to give this authorization, a judicial authorization is required. People who intend to travel to Brazil with children must consult with the Brazilian consulate before traveling for more information. One child 4 years old or younger stays free when occupying the parent or guardian's room, using existing bedding. Set meals are served in guestrooms only (no menus or public dining).

"broken toilet, faulty TV, recpn gangster,no english"

4.0

Grounda were ok and room was allright but TV channels fuzzy and after complaining they said itd be fixed the same day. Afternoom still wasnt fixed and next day complained and they lied and said maintenance was happening to cable for everyone. Next day someome came in and tried tuning it and got 2 channels and not rest. fail!!! Worst part of room was toilet flusher broke and I had to call maintence. Out of all days I stayed there only on the last day was there and english speaker, the rest spoke about 10 words of english and thats it so BEWARE if you only speak english. Staff were also a little rude and one guy kept walking around with a chain, also had tattoos and looked a little gangster

"Great pousada-soon to become a spa!"

8.0

We stayed at this pousada for 2 nights at the end of July 2007. The place was under renovation, as they are transforming it into more of a "spa" but nevertheless it is a great place to stay. The owner speaks Portuguese, German and also speaks English very well. There is a young woman who works there with the owner and his wife - Maria, I think is her name - who speaks excellent amazing English although she's never been out of Brasil - she was fun to talk to. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and can recommend beaches, buggy rentals, etc. The little downtown of shops and restaurants etc is a very short walk away (a block maybe?) - with the beach on the other side viewed thru the walkways between shops. The pousada is near where the bus lets you off - so coming from Rio or elsewhere you can almost just walk across the street. The beaches are all within easy driving distance in those bugres (dune buggies) - we didn't "do" the beaches but did take a boat tour (arranged by the hotel) to see them all and they looked great! The room was large - spartan by western standards but the bed was comfortable and the room was quiet. Our room was paid for by friends so I don't know how the price is. The food that was put out for each meal was amazing as well; we only ate one meal away from the hotel because there was no need - they had everything we wanted there!
