Hilton Garden Inn Santiago Airport

The room had very good glazing so you did not hear the traffic on the busy road out side. Large room very spacious.

Breakfast started at 6.00 am and when I arrived at 9.15 it didn't look very appealing. I chose to have a cooked breakfast and it wasn't even lukewarm. The next morning I arrived for breakfast at 6.20 am same result, lukewarm. The price was originally advertised at £168.00 for two nights. And it informed you that could change with fluctuations on the prie of the US Dollar. On the day I paid you could buy a Dollar for 0.75p. Yet they used a price of 0.82p, nearly 10 % extra which cost me £195.00. I very rarely complain about accommodation i use on my travels but they pushed the boundaries a little to far for my liking.

Close to the airport, the rooms were sound proof, the bed very comfortable, everything you need after a long flight. There was nowhere to go outside of the hotel as it was in an industrial area, but that’s the compromise of staying at the airport.

A warning. Everything about the hotel was fine. We had pick up problems which had nothing to do with the hotel staff. We went to the pick up spot and a few minutes later a car comes up and the driver asks if we are going to the Hilton, he was trying to pass himself off as the hotel shuttle, we only realised he wasn’t when we asked him how much we had to pay and he said $5 for parking fee. The hotel shuttle has Hilton written on it. We saw another group get caught by this.

It was clean and the beds were comfortable

The restaurant area was cold. We had to go back to our room and put more layers on. The TV in our room didn't work. When I asked for another room I was told all the TVs in the building are not working due to aerial reception issues. The shuttle.bus driver to the airport the following morning did not acknowledge us or engage us at all. A smile and a hello. Have a nice day! would go a long way
