Hotel El Crater

I went there for my honeymoon and it was truly amazing: - Room: Awesome double sided view, great size and accommodations. - Restaurant: Every little thing was absolutely delicious. If you don’t want to star there, just go for the food. - Spa: We went for a hot rocks massage and an hour in the jacuzzi/sauna and left rejuvenated. - Service: Outstanding. The staff and the owners are incredibly cordial and constantly helped us out. The only (remote) con is that when it was time to leave, there weren’t any Ubers available nearby but that was on the fourth day. We had no such troubles the previous three days and it has nothing to do with the hotel itself but the location.

This place came recommended by friends. We booked it for our 14th year anniversary! This place was amazing, we stayed on the 2nd floor and the view was just phenomenal, there was 1 huge window at the front of our room and 1 at the back of the room, so you could see both the sunrise and sunset. The room and bathroom were clean and romantic, very very peaceful, great to get away from the city - the restaurant was very clean and very beautifully decorated; the staff were extremely friendly and very polite, the food was delicious and filling....just wooooow! No issues with the WIFI, good speed to watch a couple of movies on line. The Spa and Jacuzzi area were fantastic too, again very very friendly staff - our privacy was very well respected. The only small issue that I had was in the shower, if your tall like I am, you will need to slightly tilt your head under the shower to wash your head, the shower head is not high enough. Also the pressure and hot water came and went......but no big deal for a quick shower. You want a peaceful get away, go to "El Crater", you will not regret it!

I have nothing but good things to say about El Crater. The hotel was quiet, and the views were spectacular. I couldn't ask for more from a hotel in Ecuador. The staff was attentive to our every need, and I really enjoyed watching the clouds roll in every day. The only problem that I encountered was with electricity. My very costly laptop is made of aluminum, and I could actually feel the current surging through the laptop. If you're going to leave your computer plugged in here, you will most definitely want to plug it into a surge protector first. I lost one laptop to that here in South America.

The rooms were super comfortable and cosy. The restaurant had great views, great food and great staff. The Spa is the best I’ve visited in Ecuador. Santiago and Carolina were both excellent masseuses!

This is an incredible hotel. Only twelve rooms, so it's boutique for sure, and you get personalized service as a result. Maybe the best view I've had at a hotel - huge windows overlooking a gorgeous valley (an extinct volcanic crater you can hike into) on one side, more huge windows overlooking the city and mountains on the other. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and super clean. On the top floor, I had awesome skylight windows, adding even more allure to the stay. Everything worked well, and I had no problems whatsoever. There's an excellent restaurant on the property and a great spa, too. But more important than the amenities are the people - the staff were all wonderful: helpful, professional, patient with my broken Spanish. It is more than worth the price. If you go, make sure to follow the little path behind the restaurant - it's only maybe a 50 meter walk and brings you to a point on the crater rim that has an even better view of the crater at sunset.

Very nice and convenient location.

The view from the Hotel is unbeatable, arrived late in the am driving from Quito Airport, had to wake the Hotel Staff at 2 am, but no one could have been any nicer with the accommodations. The Hotel was very clean and the grounds were meticulously cared for. Differently, if you are in the area you must stay here. We only had a chance to stay one night because we were driving to Termas Papallacta and site seeing along the way. Almost forgot the breakfast was fabulous, enjoy our short stay very must don't hesitate to rent a car and see the country.

Service was amazing. Santiago welcomed us with the greatest smile and was attentive at all times. Room was clean and spacious... everything was fantastic beyond words.
