Natural Lodge Caño Negro

We decided to stay at this hotel because we wanted to experience the everglade type atmosphere. It was a bit of a jot to get here with some tough roads and very rural area, but it is a hidden gem. We absolutely loved it and are so glad we decided to go outside our comfort zone and stay here I’m sure not many people do, but it is well worth the trip to say that we came to this location and specifically this hotel. And we finally got to see a family of monkeys on our river boat tour. We were beginning to think they were not really in Costa Rica. thank you

The facility is so great, lovely garden and a nice pool area. We got great support from the reception to book tours. The staff are very friendly and professional. The food is excellent, the chef is very professional. The whole facility was very clean. The manager and his family are very welcoming. We highly recommend this place.

Super location. Every single one of the stuff was super friendly and accommodating. The owners are very eager to always upgrade and maintenance the entire property. The food is excellent, good choices. The stuff made us aware of animal sightings right on the grounds (sloth, monkey). Beautiful natural bird watching setup, great to take photos. Very relaxing atmosphere. The offered boat excursions were excellent. Great guides and a lot of wildlife to watch and photograph. If you like fishing - this is the place to go! We really enjoyed our conversations with the owners Marina and Pablo.

The general location is nice, very close to the river, which is a major attraction. The restaurant was OK for dinners. The room was large and quiet.

The lodge is good, but not great, quite a few thing could be improved, marginal light in the bathroom, thin blankets, no TV, getting a hairdryer was challenging. While dinners were good, the breakfasts were semi OK, but selection was very-very limited. It's OK for couple days, but they do have some room for improvement.

We loved this property. Cano Negro is less visited by tourists and the surrounding community was very friendly. The property has everything you need and the food was delicious - the owners are a lovely family and the staff truly cared about us and wanted us to have a great time Definitely recommend the bird watching boat tour, it was one of the highlights of our trip. We booked both the AM and PM boat trips are they visit different parts of the river, we saw so much wildlife despite visiting when the water level was peak high

Caño Negro is remote and the road is not too great but the lodge is a quiet place surrounded by beautiful nature. The place is very nice and spacious. The room is a bit outdated but looks clean. Some of the staff is not very experienced in how to put the customer on #1 but they are really friendly.

The prices are quite high in comparison to the basic rooms. The portions of the food are very small. Also you have to make a menu choice the day before but it would be more customer friendly if you can just order when you are having breakfast, lunch or dinner.
