The Point Coolum

Great location. Comfortable 2-bed unit. On-site parking. VERY hot days while we were at Coolum, so the air-con in the unit was very necessary and worked well. We used the main pool which usefully also had a very small shallow pool attached - perfect for my small grandchildren. The unit was very well-provisioned -cutlery, crockery, all electrical appliances, big screen TV ... (etc etc) - so everything we needed for our 3 day stay. Fully self-contained kitchen so we could cook our own meals. Very nice shower set-up in our unit. Very comprehensive information leaflet.

[1] One quirk I noted was that check-in was AFTER 2pm BUT the reception closed AT 2pm on the day - Saturday - we arrived. They did text and call to advise me of this so we hurried up and were able to arrive at just before 2pm. They use a lock-box if you don't get there on time. [2] They require photo-ID which I haven't had to do at any other place and so didn't expect; so if arriving late you have to email a photo through to them. I didn't have my driver's licence with me, but fortunately my wife did so it wasn't an issue.

Loved the view and cool breezes. Staff were lovely. Spacious and well laid out villa. We were very comfortable

Slightly far to walk to restaurants, shops and flagged beach. If you love walking or have a car it is perfectly fine though.

The view is amazing no matter what room you’re in.

We had a broken curtain but the staff were very lovely about it.

The villa was so spacious for a family of five and you couldn’t beat the location
