Loverly place - excellent breakfast

Wow, I just can't say enough good things about Hydra in general and the Mistral Hotel in particular. Theo and Jenny are exceptional hosts and made us feel quite at home. Their breakfast is extraordinary, in both quality and quantity; most days we were so full we didn't want or need lunch! The hotel is an easy 5-10 minute walk up meandering cobbled streets from the harbor, and has a beautiful outdoor courtyard with comfortable chairs and tables. Our room was immaculately clean, and quiet even with the window open. One day we got caught in a rainstorm while hiking on a beautiful Hydra wilderness trail on the back (south) side of the island. My wife slipped, fell and cut her head, requiring 3 stitches at the local clinic (which went much more smoothly than any ER we've been to in the U.S. I might add.) Theo and Jenny showed so much sympathy for her and even washed and dried our soaked clothes for us. If we ever have the chance to return to Hydra, we definitely want to stay here again!

We had the studio apartment on the rooftop terrace and it was fabulous! Postcard view! Jenny and Theos were wonderful hosts. The location is perfect, very quiet and all you hear are roosters , the odd goat bell in the distance on the hill… Church bells in the morning are a wonderful way to awaken. Breakfast was stunningly beautiful and delicious! We’ve spent a lot of time travelling all over Europe and I must say this hotel will be memorable. We would return here in a heartbeat ❤️

The staff and owner were so friendly. The breakfast was hearty and delicious. We will absolutely stay here again. The most peaceful place you will ever stay.

Great welcome after long and late arrival into the port. Bags were taken directly to hotel and Theo was there waiting to show us our room and provide wonderful advice for dining. Hotel in quiet part of town with room overlooking its beautiful terrace filled with various plants and foliage. Hosts Jenny and Theo were gracious in making our stay pleasant. Breakfast was served on the terrace providing a great mixture of warm and cold dishes, too numerous to finish, yet providing us a taste of many dishes.

Small but clean room in an old, quaint hotel with no elevator. Hotel provided excellent breakfast and held our luggage for us while we hiked and ate lunch until the ferry to Piraeus arrived.

We came to Hydra at the recommendation of an acquaintance, who also recommended Hotel Mistral. It was wonderful. Accommodations were very comfortable and spacious, with an awesome view. Staff were very helpful. The sit down breakfast was varied, delicious, and served on the lovely patio. Hydra itself is a car free gem.

Smaller hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Moderate walk with good signage from dock/downtown.
