Masseria Marzalossa

The Masseria is a nice venue in the countryside. The staff are very helpful and pleasant. A recommended location for guests with cars who like to explore Masserie and the beautiful region. Rooms are spacious and convenient for families.

It is far from the train or bus station, and you have to schedule your day according to taxi availability. They do not serve diner. The reception is open within certain times only. There are no tissue boxes in the rooms and no complimentary drinking water.

The grounds were absolutely breathtaking. Beauty on every corner. Pool: perfection. Restaurant: charming & delicious. Rooms: perfect size; vintage, but timeless.

Their meals are supplemented with fruit and vegetables from their garden. It’s absolutely delicious. The fruit was honestly some of the best fruit I’ve had in my life. The property was beautiful and peaceful. With only 12 rooms, it was not crowded at all. We practically had the pool to ourselves every day. The room was spacious and tastefully decorated. I loved everything about it. I want to go back already.

Nothing bad to report

Breakfast was really good, the fresh fruit selection like no other. The property is very beautiful and well kept. Our room was nice, however the mattress could be harder. We were lucky to be there at a FESTA DI PAESE: a night full of delicious Puglian food and wine, a live band to get us to dance. It was an unforgettable evening. We were very glad we found this Masseria and were there at a special time.

A deeply disappointing experience. Despite being from Puglia and having visited various "masseria" in the past, this was undoubtedly the most disheartening experience. Attending the "festa di paese" dinner, the untrained staff's lack of awareness about some courses and the dessert was baffling. The undisclosed and steep pricing (70€), along with mediocre food portions and lack of wine glasses compounded the disappointment. Despite arriving at 9:30 pm, food was almost over and promises of replenishment were unfulfilled. Even worse, a request for dietary accommodations was met with great rudeness. Puglia's renowned warmth and hospitality deserve better representation than what was witnessed here.

We planned to use Masseria Marzelossa as a base to explore some of the surrounding region. Our intention was to spend each day at a different town or beach and return to the Masseria to sleep at night. We happened to be in Italy during the July heatwave so spent more time relaxing at the Masseria than we had expected. It turned out to be a highlight of our holiday. The hotel and its grounds are beautiful. The buildings and rooms are tastefully decorated with antiques and personal touches, the gardens are manicured orchards surrounded by walls and pathways, the pool was exceptional and the staff were all very friendly and attentive. The restaurant is lovely and offers cooking classes. We took one with our kids on a day when it was too hot to go out and it was perfectly organised and a lot of fun. The final point is that the location is great with numerous towns and beaches within 20 mins drive of the property.

I really can't fault the property. If I was forced to nitpick, we were unable to book a massage in the spa on the days we were there. The spa is operated by a someone from the nearby town and she wasn't available during our stay. However, we didn't give them a lot of notice so it was not unexpected.
