1. The location is great, right in the centre of the Medina, making it easy to walk around and explore. 2. The staff is very kind and welcoming, and the breakfast is tasty. 3. I also really liked the design of the room, which has a nice local touch.

1. I was disappointed with the communication from the host. The first message I received was a reminder to pay upon arrival, not the warmest welcome. On my first morning, I waited 30 minutes for breakfast in the wrong location, which was never clearly communicated. When I contacted the host, there was no greeting or apology; instead, I received a short WhatsApp message that almost blamed me for the mistake. I manage properties, and I never communicate with a guest like this. After that, no follow-up or inquiry about my stay. Annoying. Overall, I didn’t feel welcome, and it seemed like the focus was more on payment than hospitality. 2. There is ongoing construction next door, and the Riad is located very close to a mosque, which means early morning calls to prayer and daytime noise. This should be mentioned in the listing so guests can make an informed decision when booking. 3. The curtains are not blackout, so be prepared to wake up with the sunrise. Napping in the afternoon is also hard with the amount of light coming in. 4. Please change the bed cover. It looks nice, but the "balls" on top of the cover hit your face at night. Good design but not practical.

As others said already, the prayers are very loud, I knew it when booking, and it as ok for us as part of the "experience"

Great location, super friendly and helpful staff, lovey clean room and space, nice bathroom with hot shower with plenty of water pressure. We loved it!

Great experience overall. The room was great and comfortable, nice details. The staff were very helpful and welcoming. Easy to get to everything you want to see in Essaouira.

The only downside was that it was quite noisy at night so I didn't sleep very well the first night due to noise on the streets. It is also next to a mosque so you get woken up early in the morning by the call to prayer, however, other than that the location was great and everything was easily accessible from there.

Such a lovely hotel in middle of medina. Very nice room and beautiful rooftop. The house cat was also very cute. Host was very kind and could explain us a lot about Essaouira. Breakfast was perfect!

Lovely riad tucked away in the medina. My second time to Essaouira, a place which I love, and I’m so glad I chose to stay here. The staff are just lovely, warm and so very helpful. Dar Dayana is newly decorated and super clean. As other travellers have mentioned, it is next to the mosque, so you will definitely hear the call to prayer, I brought ear plugs for the early morning prayer and to be honest I think it adds to the whole ambience and it didn’t bother me at all. We had a really great room on the top floor with a fireplace (which we didn't use) and a small terrace. Very central and yet quiet location. The medina of Essaouira is very manageable, everything is within a 10 - 15 min. walk. We parked our motorcycles in the guarded parking Rédouane (a 8 min. walk). Friendly staff, she gave us a tourist map and explained where to go. Good breakfast.
