My room when, I arrived, did not have furniture on which I could put my one piece of luggage or cupboard space for my belongings. When I complained, I was, as a result, provided with a piece of furniture to put my luggage on; and the wardrobe was cleared to allow for my use. But some of the hotel's contents ftom the wardrobe were left in my room, rather than being taken away, completely. The staff were polite, but did not apologise In the hotel, found the bar and restaurant too formal for my liking, although I accept that that is a matter of personal taste. When I returned to Madrid, I stayed at a different hotel nearby which was significantly cheaper but which provided me with a far superior room. .
