Holiday Inn Express & Suites Clinton by IHG

Our stay in the Holiday Inn Express in Clinton, OK was one of (if not THE) worse hotel experience our family has had. I say so for the following reasons: 1. When we arrived, we were informed that the suite we had reserved with a King Bed & Queen Bed for our party of 5 was no longer available... that they had "been overbooked". They offered us a King bed with a pull out queen sofa or could send us to the hotel across the highway with two queens. Not wanting to deal with changing hotels at nearly midnight, we said we'd accept the King with pull out sofa. 2. The desk manager (Jeff) seemed annoyed that we were frustrated they had not kept our room available. He seemed to indicate that we should just be happy we were still getting a room. When he asked me to sign a paper with the fee rate for the room, he was frustrated that I said I wouldn't pay more for the downgrade room than for the original room I'd reserved. After arguing for minutes, he finally discounted the room the whopping $5 to match the original room rate. Most hotels would have been extremely apologetic and offered a discount, it not a comp night... not this place. 3. When we finally got to our room, we found that the pull out sofa was a twin, not a queen. We ended up having to cart in multiple cots to the room to make room for those in the room... again to the sighs of the staff. I could never, ever recommend someone stay in this hotel based on our experience.

Nice amenities and clean rooms. Beds were not comfortable. Pool floor was rough and cut our girls feet.

The staff was the highlight of this stay.

Dirty, old. Very dirty! Bath tub did not drain. Loose tile in the bathroom. Shower curtain rod was broken and loose. Three towels for the “family suite” - and “suite” is a joke! Two mismatched twin beds in a creepy, strange room off of a regular room- the children refused to sleep in there! The fitness area had no towels, no wipes for the outdated equipment, and a water fountain that did not work. On the second day, the door to the pool and fitness area was locked and Staff said they did not know how to unlock it, so no one could use the facilities. The breakfast was mediocre at best .

Our shower did not drain while taking a shower and there was no heavy window covering we had to pull together the heavy drap and clip it so nobody would see in our window the ac didn't work well if you showered at night it made the room like a sauna and felt like wet sheets when you crawled in bed very dissatisfied

The bed was not soft and there was never enough breakfast, they ran out of bread and eggs.
