Crowne Plaza New Delhi Rohini by IHG

Crowne Plaza New Delhi Rohini was selected by our local business partner during a recent business trip to India. While the hotel itself is decent and offers a good range of facilities, the overall experience was somewhat mixed. The hotel is located in Rohini, around an hour from New Delhi Airport depending on traffic. The area is not particularly central, and there is not much within walking distance. There is a nearby shopping mall, but it was closed during our stay, making the location feel somewhat isolated. We arrived in the evening after a long day of travel. Like many hotels in India, luggage must pass through security screening before entering the building. Unfortunately, the first impression at reception was disappointing. The receptionist who checked us in, Dennis, was probably the least welcoming hotel employee I encountered during my entire trip. There was no smile, no warmth, and he gave the impression that guests were interrupting his day rather than arriving at his hotel. He looked liked he didn't want to be there and that he hated his job. I specifically asked him to verify that an additional night I had booked for my boss was reflected in the system. Initially, he could not find it, then quickly dismissed my concern and assured me everything was fine. It later turned out that the extension had not been properly recorded, resulting in my boss's key card being deactivated after the original booking period. After finally getting to my room, I was greeted by a strong smell of cigarette smoke despite having requested a non-smoking room due to asthma. I called front desk, and someone was sent to spray air freshener. While appreciated, a room change would probably have been the more appropriate solution. At that point, however, I was too tired to argue. The room itself was spacious, clean, and comfortable. It is slightly showing its age, with some minor wear and tear and dated fixtures, but it remains well maintained. I had a pleasant view of the pool, a comfortable bed, and a bathroom with both a shower and bathtub. The iron was also working well and was not leaking, which is a common issue i have when using hotel irons. One minor inconvenience was a recurring puddle of water that appeared after using the bathroom. I never identified the source and chose not to report it since it didn't bother me that much Since we had not eaten dinner before arriving, we tried the buffet restaurant that evening and ended up having most of our meals there throughout our stay. The food was decent without being particularly memorable. The selection changed very little from day to day, but the restaurant staff were consistently friendly and attentive, especially the male waiters who provided excellent service and the female hostesses who remembered my room number. The only negative aspect when dining in the hotel was that every meal and room service order had to be paid for immediately rather than charged to the room. It is not a major issue, but it felt inconvenient for a hotel of this category. Another frustration was the room telephone. It was supposedly being repaired on the second day but never worked again for the remainder of my stay. This meant I had to contact the hotel through alternative methods whenever I needed assistance or wanted to order room service. On one occasion, the employee I spoke with simply told me to wait for room service to call me back rather than helping to relay the order herself. She only did it when i suggested that option to her in an irritated voice. My colleagues used the gym and swimming pool and spoke positively about both facilities. My boss also visited the spa and described her massage as very relaxing, although it apparently started a little stronger than she would have preferred. The concierge team were very professional, helpful, and efficiently handled the pickup and delivery of my laundry. Overall, we had a pleasant enough stay. However, it did not feel like a five-star experience, nor did it meet the standards I typically associate with an IHG property. The hotel benefits from some genuinely excellent staff members, particularly in the restaurant and concierge teams, but inconsistent service elsewhere prevented it from reaching its potential. I would recommend the hotel if you specifically need to stay in the Rohini area. For a future trip to Delhi, however, I would likely choose a more centrally located property.

I love this hotel and the reason is their staff . Bcz there are a girl whose name is Jyoti and she is such a pretty girl and her nature is very kind like he treats me as her sister . So very very thankful to her and her service of wax and eyebrow . I would definitely like to come to this hotel next time 🥰🥰
