Location was very good.

We booked a Superior Twin Room with a balcony and I had also emailed the hotel directly in advance to confirm that the room would have twin beds. At the same time, I asked if they could arrange something small in the room for my sister’s birthday (balloons and chocolates), which they confirmed by email. Unfortunately, when we arrived, we were given a double room with no balcony, and there was nothing arranged for my sister’s birthday. We went back to reception and I showed the staff member the email confirmation. Initially, he disputed that I had received such an email until I showed him the messages and replies. He then told us that if we wanted twin beds, we couldn’t have a balcony, but if we accepted a double bed, we could have the balcony. Regarding the birthday request, he said the hotel “doesn’t do things like that” and that he didn’t know why someone had emailed to confirm it. It was disappointing as we had specifically confirmed everything in advance to avoid any issues, and the experience on arrival felt frustrating and poorly handled. He did give us both a free drink though.
