El Jardín de la Huerta

Tranquil, pretty rural setting. Owner/manager was friendly and helpful. In fact, when he couldn't help us find a taxi to the train station in the morning, he drove us himself. Also clearly he had read some reviews of breakfast and updated it.

I did not realize how far away from the center of Sahagun the property was; definitely not for pilgrims walking the Camino.

Great Place to spend a night.

Our host Angelina was very helpful and friendly and takes pride in the little house. It's a lovely authentic village cottage with many original features, and is very comfortable. I liked the open furniture in the main bedroom for putting our bags on, and the bedside lights are a really nice touch. Cooking is by gas and there is a good selection of crockery and cookware. The little garden at the front has some privacy and a nice stone patio with a canopy over it, a good place to enjoy a glass of wine in the evening.

The owners are working on the garden so the lawn was not finished but this will soon be done.

Very peaceful & quiet. It has a lot of character & history.

Hosts were gracious and flexible. I’m sure the property has an interesting history and appeared to be lovingly restored/decorated. I loved the rustic feel, the smell of wood burning and the garden patio. The food prepared and presented by the owners was the best we’ve had in Spain, coupled with a good local wine. Breakfast was tasty too.

Unfortunately we only had one night in town. If you don’t like quiet and being in the middle of nowhere, you may not like this place. There are however lots to do right on the property, but we didn’t have the time to pursue.
