The room was spacious and comfortable, breakfast was delicious.

We had one small issue which was not really resolved to our satisfaction. Nothing major just left a bit of a sting.

"Warm and welcoming… very good."

Tudor Lodge is well placed in the middle of the town, with ample parking on site. The house is well kept and the welcome from Clair warm. We were directed to an upstairs room, that was exceedingly warm and very compact. The shower was easy to operate and hot. The white towels were large and fluffy. The bed was comfortable as were the pillows. We slept well all three nights of our stay. The breakfast choice was wide. I am sure Clair caters for everyone’s taste on the buffet, with a few variations of hot dishes cooked to order too. A very pleasant stay if you can manage stairs as the dining room is on lower ground level. We would love to stay again, but would ask for a bigger room. We were advised they have three..

The overwhelming warmth of the bedroom. The towel rail heated the whole room along with the heat from the fridge in the wardrobe warming our clothes. There was a fan provided, but it was noisy and I personally don’t like a draughty directly on me.

I travelled to Porthmadog via train, but unfortunately, due to rail disruptions, I was late arriving at Tudor Lodge, and after the time that reception had closed. However, there was a clear note left for me at the front door, with clear instructions on where I could collect my key, what room had been assigned to me and how to get around once inside. Then, for breakfast, I got a very good greeting, with questions to ensure that I had no problems in getting in the previous evening. One of the great things about the place, apart from the very friendly staff, was the breakfast supplied.

Excellent hosts and very welcoming! Place was quite tidy and deco was just great!

The hosts were very kind to accommodate us for an extra night after our first one. Unfortunately, we had to change rooms. We were hoping to stay in the same room, as it would have helped reduce unnecessary cleaning of bedding and towels, better for the environment and simpler for everyone. We couldn’t quite understand the reason for the move, but we appreciated the support nonetheless.

"Extremely upset and disappointed"

I am extremely upset and angry with Tudor Lodge. We were booked to stay this weekend for 2 nights. Unfortunately we have had a death in the family so are unable to go. I requested a cancellation last weekend and explained the reason why. They have said they will still charge me the full price of the stay regardless of the cancellation reason. I understand it is a business, but I feel there should be a reduction in the cancellation fee due or at least some empathy shown to the heartbreaking circumstances that have led me to cancel. I have now received a 'no show' status on my booking.com account which is incorrect as I cancelled via the app and spoke with Steve at the hotel. I queried this with both the hotel and booking.com. The hotel advised it was booking.com that has to tell them I have cancelled, but booking.com told me it's down to the hotel. I was fully prepared to rebook our stay at a later date, but I will not be doing that now. I am being charged over £400 on top of having to deal with an extremely upsetting situation. Not very good customer service at all!!!
