convenient to my needs

The room was unbearably hot on what was not a cold night. There was no way to turn the heating down. We had to open the window wide which made the very squeaky door bang as it was a very wet and windy night. It was not a good night !

No way to control the heating. The room was far too hot as the heating was on full all night.

Dartington Hall itself, the grounds and the beautiful location . The food and service at the Hall was very good, too.

The fact that my bathroom was not an ensuite. However, I knew this before I booked, so was prepared. The decor in some places was old and tired.

Stunning grounds, really nice to wake up in the morning on the property. The staff were very helpful, and there’s some nice cafes on site.

We had an issue with our first room being very noisy, but were moved quickly the next day which we appreciated

Beautiful location in parkland and gardens. Friendly staff and early check in. Good breakfast.

We appreciate it is an old building, but - the bed was soft and uncomfortable and so high off the ground it was difficult to get on and off. The main problem was that the heating was on full blast all night with no way of controlling it, we opened the windows as far as we could, but it was still too hot - so we had an appalling nights sleep, too hot and soft mattress where we were rolling together. The check out staff listened to our complaint and said they would pass it on to 'her', not sure who 'her' is, but not really good enough for £160 a night.

The location and historic buildings are stunning

Quite a lot of steps and the room felt a bit ‘tired’

What a beautiful setting, we were blown away! The rooms were comfortable, clean and wonderfully supplied with toiletries and hot drinks. The beds were extremely comfortable, best night sleep I’ve had in ages. Parking is free, just register it at reception. Staff were efficient, pleasant and helpful. We will certainly be coming back.

The first room was not good and the heat did not work. But we were moved to a new room. That was absolutely beautiful spacious, working heat, comfortable, clean with sitting area. So the second room gets all the five stars! Staff and food were all wonderful!
