Hotel San Francisco De Quito

Such a wonderful place. Just around the corner is Niza cafe - a Quito breakfast staple. What we struggled with was the fact that sound travels, we could hear every conversation of all the guests. Also, if you are there for business, the WiFi signal does not reach the bedrooms - I didn’t mind that.

Staff were very helpful although my lack of Spanish meant that a couple of things were mixed up but the staff were quick to help when we realised. Close to historic centre, supermarket and atm, I was glad because I did feel uneasy walking around on my own. I also booked two, one day tours through the hotel, this seems to be common practice.

No heating in the room, I asked for an extra blanket and was accommodated but if you are someone who really feels the cold badly this could make for an uncomfortable stay. It would also be great to have kettle to warm up at end of day.

All the staff were exceptional. Breakfast was limited but okay. I requested a room with a view, but didn’t realize it was 6 floors up—with no elevator! Do I asked for a lower-level room and got one on the third floor. The next night I moved to a lower floor, however, it was very noisy. Good thing I had my ear plugs. The location is fantastic!

Hotel is good, central location easy to walk around. Area is safe due to a large number of policemen. Reception people were very nice, eager to solve any of your problems. Breakfast is very limited, eggs and toast and coffee, that’s all. Picking up and dropping of airport transfer is safe (right infrond of entrance)
