Hotel an der Therme Bad Orb

Hotel an der Therme Bad Orb is well located in the small scenic town of Bad Orb, and a good option for business travelers in the area.The facilities are quite nice, but the rooms are lacking air conditioning, which was a bit of a surprise considering the price. The attached "Therme" is a very nice attraction with many swimming and soaking options. Our only major issue was checking out. Our Hotels.com reservation clearly says 11:00AM, but the cleaning staff was at our door at 10:00AM and not very happy that we were still there. When we showed our reservation to the front desk staff, they basically said "too bad, it's 10:00AM". No consideration of our actual booking information.

Overall the hotel looks a bit dated from the outside but nice and modern inside. The rooms I stayed in ( I switched rooms after the first night) were nice and big with view over the Kurpark and pretty much over the whole town, which was awesome ! My only complaint is the bar/ terrace, where people gather for a drink in the evening, is directly below all the rooms on that side of the building and therefore with windows open, like I had, it is noisy and, even worse, all the smoke from cigarettes drifts into the room, which is the reason I switched rooms :-( I must give the hotel a big plus for the breakfast, it was very tasty and plentyful !

Nice Front Desk staff. Breakfast was good. Bed was comfortable. The hotel had a modern, but somewhat sterile ambiance.

Everything about this hotel [which is next to the thermal spa] is fabulous! The hotel is huge with large public spaces, excellent breakfast, good rooms and a fabulous restaurant.

I preferred the pillows and Betten the previous hotel chain used in this hotel The seats in the lobby and restaurant were also more comfortable before the hotel was renovated
