"very nice hotel but needed bringing up to scratch"

unfortunately the bathroom wasn’t en suite and they did not do dinners. had to go to Grantown on Spey to get evening meal

Our room was super, breakfast was excellent and so nicely presented. Iain and Elaine were superb hosts, so friendly and welcoming. The hotel was lovely, comfortable, stylish and relaxing and had a great selection of books, lots of bird life and red squirrels in the garden. A beautiful, tranquil setting.

We liked everything. It was obvious that alot of care and attention had been paid to every aspect of the hotel.

"A unique luxurious experience."

Iain and Elaine (managers) were great- friendly and knowledgeable and we enjoyed hearing about the history of the house, built in 1901. My breakfast kippers were delicious and the black pudding served with my husband's breakfast was the best he ate in all of Scotland. The rooms are furnished beautifully and give a luxurious country estate feel, as are the shared lounge and dining spaces downstairs. There are also a large range of drinks available until about 10 pm. Our stay was a very memorable experience- thanks in large part to the wonderful hospitality. We asked for and were given recommendations for dinner in town, and we ended up at the Craig Bar, with a pies only menu (they are delicious) and a very entertaining manager. (We were warned that he could sometimes say inappropriate things, but us Australians thought that he was hilarious!)

Beautiful house - well appointed - fantastic service and staff. Breakfast was exceptional - full Scottish of the highest qaua;ity - extensive menu. Prices were good value for money

The friendly welcome on arrival. The open log fire. The jacuzzi bath. The breakfast. The little cream egg under the coffee cup for easter. A lovely wee touch. The bed was so comfy.

Everything was perfect.

The breakfast was delicious the salmon was the best I've had, it was lovely to play chess over a few drinks in a good ambient atmosphere. The staff were very helpful and accommodating I would highly recommend
