"After being forced to pay up we turned and drove home immediately without staying at this dark place"

2.0

Having visited several beautiful haciendas in the area, we arrived with high expectations based on the reviews given on this platform. However, this turned out to be a huge disappointment. There was no hacienda—just a renovated farm with roads around. I promised my kids lots of animals, but all we could find was one depressed donkey, one lonely lama, and two male sheep that were trying to kill each other in a small field in the back of the building. The door was closed, and there was not a soul in sight. The Cotopaxi volcano was not visible, and the hotel was dark and run-down. We requested kindly to please annulate our stay so we could have our holiday elsewhere but the owner/manager refused since there was no crisis situation so no reason to anul the contract. In other words, we were forced to pay for something we did not want. We decided to pay and drive back home for 4 hours since we genuinely did not want to stay in this place with terrible vibes all around it. It's best to stay away and enjoy this beautiful region through one of the other lovely real haciendas. What a sad day to see our much-needed family holiday taken down by the greed of some hotel owner.

"A cozy place for people who want to relax! With kids I would think twice :)"

8.0

The property is beautiful and cozy, located not very far from Cotopaxi National Park which is a great thing. The staff are just amazing and helpful.

I almost liked everything about the property the only thing is if it rains and you are travelling with kids and toddlers, there is nothing much to do inside. The common space is quite small and I am sure we disturbed other guests as we were few friends with kids and toddlers!

The property is situated in beautiful surroundings, so peaceful and secluded. The staff were very attentive and helpful. The deco of the Hacienda is very cosy and traditional. I really enjoyed my stay!

The only thing I didn't like was the bed sheets. They were synthetic, which is not very comfortable, especially when combining with the dry air (electrifiying). Given the price paid and the level of care elsewhere in the Hacienda, I would strongly recommend investing into natural cotton bed sheets for the ultimate comfort.

"Pure Serenity"

10.0

We really enjoyed our stay at the Hacienda Santa Ana. It is perfectly located and close to Cotopaxi Park. There is not much around in the area, which means you have calm and quiet the entire time. We were extremely fortunate that we were the only guests, which means that we had the entire place to ourselves. The staff on-site was super helpful and showed us around the area, introduced us to the animals on the farm, and provided us with advice, rubber boots, and great hospitality overall. Food options are limited, however, we enjoyed the simple yet tasty dishes that were served for both lunch and dinner. Breakfast was included in the price and had a good variety. Please note that you need a taxi or private car to reach the Hacienda as it is in the middle of nowhere. (Which is probably the biggest selling point!) - Speaking of selling point, this accommodation is higher priced than most in the area, but it was so worth it!

It took a while to get warm water, but it did not take away from our amazing experience.

"Beauty around every corner!"

10.0

We loved everything about our stay at Santa Ana. It is a beautiful property with so many unique features. We came with a two year old and a four month old, and though it doesn't seem like the most family friendly destination on the surface, it turned out fabulously; the animals were a huge hit, the massive front lawn allowed for hours of kicking the soccer ball around, the meals were delicious and a high chair was available. We also enjoyed two great activities organised by the staff: a farm visit where we saw the cheese making process and a hike to the nearby waterfall (both excellent for our two year old)! Speaking of the staff: they were thoughtful, helpful and very accommodating!
