Hotel The Raj, New Delhi

I stayed here two weeks before and there was no Internet except in the lobby. Hoped that they would have fixed that, but no. There was still no Internet, and this causes tremendous problems for foreign tourists who generally don't have a phone that works in India. Also, their website says 'Free Breakfast', but no such thing; they do have a restaurant in the hotel building, but they don't serve any breakfast. It was cold and I asked if they can get me a portable heater for the room. The desk staff told me that he would check if they had one. Half hour went by, hour went by, many hours went by, no answer. They didn't even bother to come and tell me if they would have one for me or not. Here are three things that I would like Expedia to take up with this hotel and all others in India: This hotel, (and I believe others in India too) ask customers for a) Father's Name, b) where you are coming from?, and c) Where you are going to after leaving the hote. These are my personal information, and hotels should not ask. A government does have the right to ask, but not a hotel. I am told that this is because of some archaic policy that has been inherited from the British Colonial times. A hotel must verifiy a customer's identity to ensure that the person is who he/she claims to be, but no more personal information. Hotel employees are not government employees, and they should not be asking these questions. I have traveled dozens of countries and nowhere hotels ever asked these questions.

There is no hot water for shower. The staff asked for our passport to scan 2 times during our stay. In fact, they found the original scan in their saved file, and they still insisted to scan our passport the second time.

Avoid this. This hotel has gone down the drain. Lots of drama and lies, but no service.

I booked this hotel on net and Its a terrible experience, staff is very disappointing, they used rude words. During stay i saw they misbehaving a foreigner. So, do not recommend to stay here.

Veer and other staff did really well, but the food need to be under same roof

I BOOKED THIS HOTEL FOR 10 DAYS AND PAID FULL ON EXPEDIA, WHEN I REACHED THERE FIRT QUESTION THEY ASKED ME,DID YOU HAVE PROOF?, WE HAVE NO INFORMATION FROM EXPEDIA, AFTER 6 DAYS THEY TOLD ME YOUR BOOKING IS OVER?, VERY BAD HOTEL,DISHONEST STAFF, A/C WAS NOT WORKING, I ASKED THEM TO CHANGE MY BAD SHEET AFTER 4 DAYS, HE REPYED ME IT IS VERY CLEAN?,TRASH WAS FULL ?,BAD SMELLS, THIS IS TERRIBLE AND HORRIBLE HOTEL, I SIMPLY CAN'T EXPLAIN HOW BAD THIS HOTEL IS. I WILL REQUEST EXPEDIA PLEASE REMOVE THIS HOTEL FROM THERE WEBSITE,

The staff are excellent. The service they give to the customers is excellent. I had a great comfort during my stay.

Good room with nice facilities & good co-operative staff. Also the ambiance is good.

Worst customer service, rooms very dirty and towels dirty. Lack of communication and lack of professionalism.
