All was very good

Location is about a 3-minute walk from Zermatt Station. The flat path to the hotel makes it very convenient for travellers with heavy luggage. (Note: There is one small staircase of about 4–5 steps leading to the hotel lobby, after which you can use the elevator.) McDonald's, Coop, and Migros are nearby. The room was clean, spacious, and quiet. We were lucky to get a room with a Matterhorn view (a small view of the Matterhorn peak) and a shared balcony. There is no air conditioning, but a portable fan is available upon request. The bathroom appears to be newly renovated and includes a bathtub. Other facilities and amenities included a very soft bed, hairdryer, mirror, TV, desk, sofa, towels, slippers, a strong shower, multiple charging points, a coffee machine, wardrobe, safe, and a large double sink with two taps, which was very thoughtful for two guests. I also liked the toiletries provided. The hair and body wash with aloe vera and the body lotion with aloe vera smelled wonderful and left my skin feeling soft and moisturised. It was a nice touch that enhanced the overall stay. We loved the breakfast. It was simple yet offered plenty of choices, including several varieties of bread, nuts, dates, milk, oat milk, almond milk, salad, cereal, juices, fruits, cheeses, bread spreads, yogurt, yogurt drinks, cold cuts, coffee, and tea. The staff were friendly and helpful. Luggage storage is available. One interesting experience during our stay was that the entire town of Zermatt experienced a power outage for a short while on our second day. The staff handled the situation professionally, which made us feel safe and reassured.

Not a negative point, but something future guests may wish to be aware of: there is no fridge or kettle in the room. Please note that cooking is not permitted in the room; however, cup noodles are allowed, and hot water can be obtained from the reception or restaurant. We highly recommend Hotel Garni Testa Grigia and would gladly stay here again on our next visit to Zermatt.

Beautiful, spacious room with a view of the Matterhorn. Comfortable bed and nice shower.
