Hotel Pourcheresse

Accueil très sympathique et sobre. La chambre est très propre et le prix très correct.

Booked through Booking.Com on a free cancellation basis - wish I had cancelled. Hotel is cheap basic budget with paper thin walls, you can hear everything around, especially annoying if you have people waking up early or going to bed late around you. However worse thing came when checking out, I had collected cash from all the other members of our group, I was then presented with a completed Debit Card authorisation, the owner had already deducted entire bill from the card I use for the website guarantee, completely against the term of the website. This raiding of my bank account cost me transaction fees and a rubbish fx rate. I have made a complaint to Booking.com but suspect nothing will happen. Stay at your own risk.

So the positives, cost EUR 55, a short walk into town, rooms in the main clean. It gets average when you sleep on a bed which wakes you up every time you turn over or you are kept awake by other residents walking on the bare wooden floors outside your room. Good for those on a budget, who sleep like a log. I though will not be returning.

This is a cheap hotel. Our room was recently renovated, warm and clean. The bikes were in a seperate locked garage at the back of the hotel. The corridors were in the process of renovation so when we visited they were in poor condition. Breakfast was coffee, bread, croissants and pain au chocolat

Amazed to see such poor reviews here although peeps more for the hotel than restaurant. Just had a week eating across France on road trip with a pal and we both agreed this was our best meal. We eat classic French, blanquette de veaux, pot au feu etc - all of which can be easy to do quite averagely, but all courses were excellent. Suitably snotty waiters who thawed over time
