The Shears Inn

Beautiful location, bar area was cosy with a gorgeous fire , very cute dog! Dinner was good, would have been better to have more gfo labelling so we didn't have to keep asking the server if dishes could be adapted or were already gf. This includes the specials board.

Breakfast was lacking. We would have appreciated more protein options and the ability to pay for a cooked breakfast. Beds were rather hard but the room was good in every other way for the price. If i were to offer some constructive feedback i would say the restaurant was too brightly lit, this detracted from the ambience. Apart from this we loved our stay thank you.

Location is absolutely beautiful as is the Inn. We didn’t eat here as we were visiting friends, so can’t comment on the food! Being able to bring the dog was a huge bonus

The food was exceptional, had the Farmers sharing dish and was so good. The lady gave good customer service.

Sadly not the best of welcome from the owner at arrival! At dog friendly establishments sometimes dogs may wet themselves on a stone floor as ours embarrassingly did, but to be grumped at as first words after standing at the bar awaiting attention " your dogs pissing on my floor" isn't a good start. No offer of breakfast although advertised on the website, so I arranged with owner to check out at 8.15 to continue our trip, downstairs all locked up and had to call them, they'd overslept!
