Rocklea Hotel

The bed was unbelievably comfy and the cooked breakfast was good with a choice of cereals. Very good hosts and very welcoming.

This isn't my first visit but it is my first visit under the management of Bernice and Dave. I rated this hotel well when Sue and Tony owned it but the improvements Dave and Bernice have made are phenomenal. They have simplified the dining room, making it much neater, functional and brighter. The first thing I said when I went in there was "oh my God". Breakfast was spot on, I don't usually care for sausages but I had one and enjoyed it. There were facilities for us to make our own toast so we didn't have to ask for it, we could just get as much as we wanted, when we wanted it. Our room was lovely, with a selection of refreshments, including biscuits. There was also a selection of travel sized toiletries and even a pair of slippers each. I was concerned about how soft the bed was at first because I have issues with chronic pain but even though the mattress was soft, it provided me with the support I needed. Some kind of sorcery. There are plenty of sockets as well as usb sockets for phone chargers. The room has its own iron, ironing board and hairdryer. There is a full length mirror in the room and a beautiful dressing table with three mirrors. I can't recommend this place enough and if you have a car, it's ideal because it has its own parking. If you're coming to Blackpool, I strongly suggest you look for rooms at this hotel before you try anywhere else, seriously. If you have real diagnosed OCD like my husband, you will be okay here. Incidentally, it was his 60th birthday when we arrived and Bernice was disappointed we hadn't told her beforehand, because she would have arranged something special for him. We're coming back here in April, booked it when we checked out this morning.

Such a lovely couple that owns this hotel. They took it over last year and are working hard to make it their own. Really good vibe. Close to city centre(walking distance to major attractions) off road parking (ask hotel for availability) great breakfast , everything was in the room (tea, coffee, slippers, shampoo/shower gel.
