Val Du Charron Wine & Leisure Estate

This is a beautiful place in a gorgeous setting. Unfortunately we came away feeling a little shortchanged. We were greeted by the poor, harried chef who informed us that because there had been a wedding the day before, there would be no restaurant services that night. That was something we were counting on after a long drive and part of the reason we choose Val du Charron. We were informed that there would be load shedding for two hours that night but that the generator would come on. The lights did go out but the generator failed to come on and no one came to check if all was functioning as it should. Needless to say this made for a less than enjoyable, very dark stay. Breakfast was good and served rather elegantly as would befit what appears to be a lovely spot. We inquired about the included olive and wine tours but it was too much of a walk for me so we passed. We inquired about the cellar tour and found the lights would not come on and we were given the short and somewhat hurried version. This is a beautiful place to stay in an absolutely lovely setting but we felt the service we received was short shrift.

Oerhört vackert och fridfullt. Så trevlig och tillmötesgående personal. Allt var perfekt - professionellt och personligt! God mat och fina viner. Utsikten från vårt rum var bedårande. Vi fick en fin guidad visning och provning av vingårdens viner. Vi åkte runt på olika fantastiska vingårdar och vi gjorde även en utflykt i hyrd bil över bergen.

Stayed one night on our way to a wedding. Although it was kinda expensive, the pool was incredible and so too the breakfast.

Wir wurden sehr freundlich mit einem Gals Wein empfangen. Das kleine aber hübsche Zimmer hatte einen herrlichen Ausblick über die Weinberge bis zu den Bergen. Die Führung durch den Weinkeller war sehr interessant und nur für uns. Das Schwimmen im kleinen Pool war herrlich am Morgen für dem Frühstück.

Very friendly staff. Absolute amazing views and scenery.
