Sur Hotel

We took this hotel because of the raving reviews on Tripadvisor. A friend of mine had stayed here before and he also recommended it to us. We were welcomed by the very friendly owner Nasser. They showed us several double rooms and we could chooze which one would be the prefered one. The inside of the hotel is very colourfull. The rooms are very basic, but okay for the price that you pay. There is a little desk, a double bed, a wardrobe, psychedelic wallpaper (would not have expect this in Oman, so funny). The hotel can organise trips to see the turtles in Ras al Jinz. We did not use this service as we planned to stay one night there the next day. The only thing that is lacking, in my opinion is a breakfast-service. There are restaurants in the surroundings however. It is on the edge of the souk, we had a nice stroll there in the evening. The fishmarket is also on walking distance, but you have to go the opposite way then. Overall this small hotel is recommended because of the service with a smile and the good price. Nasser also helped us arranging visiting the desert with our rental car. Thanks again that was a wonderfull and precious advice!

The staff at the Sur Hotel were very welcoming and cheerful and clearly take a lot of pride in running and safe, clean and pleasant hotel. The room was large and clean, with a good bed, cold air conditioning and a completely fine bathroom. There are several good Indian restaurants nearby and parking is available right outside the hotel. Our GPS has no problem finding the hotel. I booked through AirBNB which made all the administrative arrangements very easy. I’d stay here again.

This is an older hotel located in a bustling part of town. The room is spacious and the AC works well. WiFi and a weight room are provided. This is an enexppensive place to stay and I got good value. Go eat at the Zaki Restaurant a couple miles away: you’ll be glad you did.

Staff was very kind and helpful, the room was comfortable with all amenities working. Not on the luxury side, but well enough for our needs. Centrally located, there is a parking lot in front. One bakery nearby where you can buy items for your breakfast. Sur Hotel Restaurant (just behind) is a good choice for dinner, we were not disappointed. And, above all, very good value for money.

The hotel is basic and full of color but adequate considering the cost compared to others in the area. The hotel is in the heart of downtown and walking distance to many restaurants, the beach, etc. The hotel has some quirks compared to a chain western hotel but the staff were fantastic and we had a great night's sleep.

Good budget hotel in the centre of Sur. Friendly and very helpful staff at reception. Decent sized room is simple but comfortable and well equipped (TV, refrigerator,AC, ceiling fan). Everything worked. Whole place was spotless. Good dinner and OK breakfast at cafe next door. Plenty of on street parking outside.

Great quality at a great price. 11.60 OR on booking.com or 15 OR walk in rate. Comfortable and clean and friendly. Good WiFi. Located right in the center of town. There were even English channels on tv.

Eenvoudige kamers (verwacht geen bedlampje), maar schoon en heel aardig management en personeel. Voor een goede prijs midden in Sur. In omgeving makkelijk een restaurant en ontbijt te vinden.

This no-frills hotel in Sur's city center is extremely clean and quite comfortable, without anything fancy but everything you need, including strong wifi. Very popular among Euro (especially German) independent tourists. The deciding factor is friendly and cooperative staff,
