"A pleasant, friendly hostel - great value."

8.0

I stayed with my family in this hostel for a short break. Though it is in a remote part of Donegal, there was plenty to see in the surrounding area.. Facilities were basic, but our family room was comfortable and very clean, as was the en-suite bathroom. Although we had the option of self-catering, using the well-equipped kitchen, we went for the buffet breakfast instead, and were not disappointed - it was excellent. Our hosts, Paul and Sharon, were very welcoming, friendly and helpful.

"The place where time passes it by."

10.0

Hotel actually closed so transferred to Gleann Dobhl in village - a B&B. A relaxing gentle time where the pace of modern life passes this area by. BUT an area of astonishing natural beauty, with a coastline exposed to the ravages of the Atlantic Ocean. There is much scope for walking, and the Slieve League mountains will tax the most eager hill walker. This is area is worth re-visiting time and time again.

"Quirky"

8.0

I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the hostel. It is a great place to stay with children as the family rooms are a good size. Paul, who runs the hostel is very friendly and accommodating. You have to remember however it is a hostel so bring your own hand wash etc. great value for money.

"Great location but not in a storm"

6.0

The hotel manager was really a nice guy and gave good directions to local sites. Breakfast was also good. The location was excellent, near town and beaches. However, the walls were paper thin between rooms and we could hear several other people through the night. Also, there was a storm the night of our stay and cold air ripped around the room door and just about froze us out, especially since the heat did not seem to come on until the following morning.

"Lovely views of the rugged Donegal Coast."

6.0

The room was very cold and we had to ask for the heat to be turned on. They did send a space heater which was lovely. The members kitchen was not well equipped and poorly lit but the fireplace was toasty warm. I feel bad giving a poor review as Sharon and Paul were so friendly and helpful. They were very knowledgeable about the local attractions and services and all in all I would go back as the hostel is an ideal base to explore the region.
