Genusshotel Krone & Roadtrips bei Basel

This hotel has a lot going for it. The location was beautiful - a bit out of the way, so getting there late at night was a challenge, but it was quite picturesque. The rooms were sufficient for our needs. The breakfast - which we had only one time - offered a good selection of items and, given the current economic climate, was relatively reasonably priced (especially if you factor in the cost of the convenience). The staff were very friendly and helpful, and answered our questions with good information. We would definitely stay there again.

The staff notified me ahead of time that our arrival would be past their reception desk hours. They made arrangements to ensure that I had a key to the room. I appreciated that foresight on their part. Unfortunately, when we arrived the front door was closed and locked. We had not been informed that a side door was left unlocked 24/7, so we would have had access to our room anyway. So, until we received that information, we were left with no options but to call the various phone numbers that they had supplied us with (giving those numbers was a GOOD thing!). However, at first, even the individual we spoke with on the phone seemed unsure about how to resolve our situation. Perhaps they were a brand representative and not a location staff member. Anyway, we did eventually get into our room when we were told about the side door (which, by the way, was tucked away in the corner of a courtyard behind a fence,,,I do not know if we would have seen it from the road, especially if we were not looking for it), The next morning we also had a hard time contacting staff to find out about how to manage our breakfast. Multiple trips to the reception desk, which was empty, and ringing the notification bell, yielded no response. Finally, we just went to the breakfast room and helped ourselves, and later a staff person came to speak with us. Mind you, all was well...the worker was not upset at us and did not suggest we had done anything wrong. But, not having ready access to staff, especially during normal business hours, was a bit disconcerting. The only other "complaint" was that very few TV channels worked. Minor, I know, but noticeable.

Wir hatten ein ruhiges, nach hinten gelegenes Zimmer von überschaubarer Größe. Es war alles sauber. Die Einrichtung war recht gemischt modern. Die Frühstücksprodukte waren gut, die Anordnung des Buffets könnte verbessert werden.

Es fehlte eine ausreichende Beleuchtung. Das Lesen einer Zeitung war nur sehr mühsam möglich. Der Dunstabzug im Bad war trotz geschlossener Türe zu laut. Sehr ärgerlich war der fehlende, deutliche Hinweis, dass die Küche am Donnerstagabend geschlossen ist.

Zusatzbett im "Comfort-Familienzimmer" war ein Not-Klapp-Bett, auf dem ich nicht gut liegen konnte.

Gute Ausstattung und sehr saubere Zimmer. Schönes Ambiente. Nettes Personal.

Das Zustellbett im Dreibettzimmer war sehr hart und unbequem! Nach der Nacht hatte man Rückenschmerzen. Da ist noch Luft nach oben. Vielleicht können hier komfortablere Zustellbetten oder ausziehbare Schlafsessel angeschafft werden.
