In The Palace

Wij gaan graag terug en raden anderen "In the Palace" aan. Zeer centraal gelegen in het oude centrum. Horeca, strand, busstation, haven, alles binnen een paar minuutjes wandelen. Wel af en toe wat herrie (mn muziek), maar niet hinderlijk. De aanwezigheid van een keukentje met koelkast, waar eigenaresse voor ons vruchtensap en water in had gezet, ervaarden wij als gastvrij. Het is geen super lux verblijf, topfloor is synoniem voor traplopen en je moet bijv wat bukken in de douche, maar het verblijf in "In the Palace" is absoluut "value for money".

Fantastic. This is the NE tower of the Roman palace offeres increadable views. This is an apartment with three rooms and was perfect for a stay with friends.

This appt. was only required for 1 night as we were en route for a ferry to Hvar Island. It was suitable but access to the top floor appt. was difficult and worrying. There were several separate flights of steps, 90 in all and on some there were no handrails on either side. Arriving with 2 very young grand-children and luggage caused us concern. Perhaps this should be mentioned in its description

All good but one flaw. Bed was impossibly noisy. I woke myself up every time i moved. Even when just moving around normally, it sounded like a wild love making session. Eventually, we had no choice but to lift the mattress off bed and set it on the floor. Only 3/4 of it fiit, so it was like sleeping in a rolled taco, but at least it was quiet. The reason is the regular slats of the bed had been replaced with sheets of mdf, or particle board. It was obvious that others had this problem, because napkins were jammed between the boards which creaked and moaned, but unfortunately, this will not fix the problem. A bed has slats so that when there is weight on the bed, the slats absorb the load. I dont know if all rooms had this problem or just ours. Location is great, so if you dont mind the noise, then its good to stay here.

Lovely place to stay although difficult to locate and situated up MANY MANY steps. Be warned: if you have a suitcase you will have great difficultly accessing the apartment. Owner is very friendly and welcoming although there is no possibility for early check in or bag drop off so think about this when planning your arrival time!

The best of this place si sanya, the Owner. She si very worry about Make your staying outstanding The problem si that the place is in a 3 floor si IST dificult to get there with bags. Our Room dont have air conditioner And this is a thing to change

This apartment is beautiful, located in an old Guard Tower right beside the Palace. The welcome was more than you could ask for, and everything was clean and tidy. However, there is no air-conditioning, meaning the room temperature was from 28-34 degrees (in June). We could not sleep as we were just so so hot! Also be warned that the apartment is reached from three flights of steep stairs, so is not the easiest to drag a heavy suitcase up.

We stayed in a three bed apartment and were late in arriving, but the manageress who lived some distance away waited around for us and was very pleasant. Unique place to stay - the walls were several feet thick, some of the windows overlooked the Palace/Old Town. The apartment was clean, well looked after and had everything we needed. The manageress put some bottles of fruit juice and water in the fridge for us before we arrived which was a nice touch - no charge. We didn't cook there but ate out. The only drawback would be the three sets of staircases to reach the top of the tower (the apartment) - which for us added to the experience - but older people or those with many cases would find it difficult. Overall an unusual place to stay but a good and different experience.

Great location and clean. THe lady who owns the apartment, Sanja, is lovely and polite.
