A very unsatisfactory experience!as we had builders in at home I decided to take my wife away for a few days.we chose Eastbourne and the riviera hotel.i booked in a few days in advance to stay Monday and Tuesday,1st and 2nd June.i received an urgent text from my builder on the Tuesday morning telling me they needed to see me promptly.i talked to the receptionist saying I could not stay the second night.unfortunately she said that it was booking .com who had confirmed the booking and that is was their policy that no refund policy was in place and that I had to pay the hotel for two nights.she sad it was not their problem.i promptly phoned booking .com,explaining my situation and they said it was the hotels decision as to weather I could only pay for one night.both booking .com and they said it hotel “passed the buck” onto the other party.i had no choice due to my wife’s distress other than to pay for two nights to ease her concern.we left soon after on the Tuesday morning and returned to London.this hotel is living in the 1950,s with regard to operating practice and quality of accommodation.it needs a good clean and refurbish like many of the seafront hotels there.bournemouth is living on past glory,s,peeling paintwork,rusty entrance railings,side streets overflowing with both domestic and commercial rubbish with some hotels boarded up and deserted.think twice or three times before you visit there.

It was literally infront of the sea side and very centric, although they chose a room on the back with a very ugly view

They gave us a room on the back quite an ugly view and the room is very outdated, definitely clean but outdated
