Hotel Nefeli

Because of quite positive reviews on booking.com, we have chosen to stay here. There are some positive points about this property: convenient location if you're planning to travel around the beach area rather than the city; The hotel is close to the sea; some friendly staff, lady at the breakfast was always very smiley and trying her best; beds were comfortable; linen and bathroom amenities refreshed daily (we left tips for housekeeping); pastry shop and some local restaurant/shops nearby. HOWEVER, there are some basics, that need to be addressed. HOTEL is next to KINDERGARTEN, I wish a had a picture, but every morning we would wake up from little kids screaming their lungs out as their playground facing the hotel:)) I like kids, but not at 7:30 am and 30 of them in one place. WIFI connection was poor, especially in our room #407. RECEPTION - on Sunday 16th of September the agent who was working couldn't say a sentence of English through the interaction:) I'm not exaggerating. But at the end of our check-in, when it came to asking for payment he was able to:) The rest of the staff had a good level of English, but as first interaction, the receptionist couldn't try less. SHOWER- in our room there was no handle to hang the shower head, but this would have a been small defect if the HOTEL WOULD HAVE HAD ANY HOT WATER, but it DID NOT. Throughout the entire stay (5nights), I only once found the water in the shower lukewarm. I understand it's hot outside, however, every woman with hair knows that it's impossible to wash your hair with freezing water. I do think that things like this should be in any basic hotel, doesn't matter if it's 3*. Verdict: I have stayed in the hostels that are way better than this so-called "hotel". Do not waste your time and money:)

Apart from the location, we did not enjoy the stay in this hotel. The room smelled of ciggarette smoke, the shower had been leaking and was noisy all night. Room was right next to the lift so very noisy, when people were coming in and out. The airconditionning was set at hot air -we had to call the reception to change to airconditionning at 1am as it was unbearable hot in the room. Breakfast were ok. Parking was available in front of the hotel.

Pros: - comfortable beds - stable Wi-fi - great AC - helpful staff - close to beaches, 24/7 bakery, restaurants, supermarket and bus/tram stop Cons: - rooms aren't properly cleaned, there's lot of dust everywhere. Cleaners only change towels and take out garbage and that's it - very small bathroom without shower curtain/door so water goes everywhere - thin walls, you can hear everything what's going on in another room, other guests coming and going all night, shutting doors very loudly etc. - poor breakfast, no vegetables, not enough tables and chairs so some guests have to eat outside - you can borrow an iron from the reception but there's no iron board - no glasses/cups/plates/cutlery in the room - no duvet - there's bus/tram stop close to the hotel but it takes 40 minutes to reach the city centre

Good quality for the price. Rooms are small but clean. Close to the bus station for the airport (X96 - about 40 min) and to the city center (A2 - 20-30 min for Acropolis and Syntagma square). For about 5-10 minutes walk you will find a place with many restaurants at a very good price and quality. Just across the main street there is a pebbles beach with very clean water. Breakfast is very poor. Just a few things and never change.

Stayed here one night in mid-September while I was waiting for freinds to arrive with a boat charter. I caught the bus X96 (Athens to Piraeus harbour bus / costs 6 euros) directly from Athens airport and it was very simple. The trip took about 45 minutes or just under and the bus stops about a block from the hotel and is a short 5 minute walk from the stop. My plane was late and I arrived around 10.30pm. Its a kind of built up, urban area but a few blocks further from the bus stop you will find a couple of kisoks selling beer, water and crisps and a couple of restuarants. When I got there the kind receptionist told me they had been waiting for me and advised me on the latter. Staff were very kind. The room was small but clean and everything was as I needed: wifi, shower, TV. The bathroom in the single room (with double bed though) was pretty tiny but that really doesn't matter for one night. Breakfast was along the same lines as the hotel: everything you needed but nothing super fancy and really kind and courteus staff. The beach is just over the road as is a tram stop. If you're heading to Alimos marina, where mnay charter boats leave from, this place is an affordable and convenent location. Highly recommended for that purpose. We absolutely love this place. Everything is very clean, rooms are cozy and modern. The area is very safe as the hotel is in front of a school and there are many restaurants and shops within a 5 minutes walk. Is super close to the beach and the personel is very helpful. We have stayed in 3 different hotels in Athens and this one is the best of all.

When I've arrived in the night I tried to do a shower but the water wasn't warm enough but the day after they fixed it. Discrete breakfast with not enough table for all clients in fact they told me to have a breakfast in the sofa'. Great sea view, modern light installation I like the designer, and cordial staff maybe someone too serious but it's ok.

We stayed here for 1 night. The rooms are very clean and comfortable bed. Very reasonably priced, good value. A 10 euro taxi ride to sintagma square and good shopping on Ermou street. Also it's located near the sea as well as some nice restaurants

The hotel have ocean view, that gives you great photos! the room was nice, full of mirrors, that turn the environment very romantic and spicy! The location is far from the center, but in Athens everything is faraway! The breakfast was the Mediterranean type but with not many variety.

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights on our trip to Athens. It contained no less and no more than what we needed: A place to shower and to lay our heads after a long day. There's free wifi that works perfectly, and a breakfast consisting of buns, hard-boiled eggs, coffee/tea, orange juice, yogurt, and some toast and spreads. Basic, but sufficient. The staff is friendly, and most importantly the location is fantastic- a walking distance from all the main tourist spots. The only downsides: A cramped shower and some night-time noise as a result of doors slamming in the hall.
