I like this plase very much! It felt like at home. We walked everywhere not using any transportation because the hotel was in the historical center.

Wir sind zum zweiten Mal in diesem Hotel abgestiegen und wurden nicht enttäuscht. Wer ein normales kleines Hotel im Zentrum von Sankt Petersburg sucht, sollte Dom Dostojewskogo durchaus in Erwägung ziehen. Wir werden jedenfalls gern hierher zurück kommen, sollte uns das Leben noch einmal nach Sankt Petersburg führen.

Номер просторный и удобный, но есть очень маленькие номера, которые считаются на двоих, но удобно там только одному, поэтому надо следить, что выбираешь. И в нашем номере не открывалось окно, только форточка. Но это не Турция, в Питере это не сильно помешало, хоть мы и были в июне. Персонал очень приветливый, все расскажут, все подскажут! Спасибо им большое. Место шикарное, пешком весь центр, все основные музеи, мосты. Метро в 5 мин. ходьбы.

We only stayed one night at Dom Dostoevskogo, but it was superb. When I book a budget hotel, I tend to relax my standards: I expect budget accommodation to be less clean, less quiet, and less welcoming than more expensive hotels. Dom Dostoevskogo was none of these things. The staff was very helpful when we checked in, providing us with plenty of information about what to see in St. Petersburg. Our room and bathroom were clean, spacious, and quiet. The free breakfast in the morning included all of the fundamentals: toast, spreads, eggs, juice, and fresh coffee. Additionally, the hotel is close enough to the city center that you can walk to most of the tourist attractions, including the Hermitage museum and several cathedrals. If you prefer to take the metro, though, there's a station two minutes away. Most important, though, the staff were very welcoming toward my girlfriend and me. As a lesbian couple in Russia, we were warned time and again to keep our relationship under wraps, but the staff at Dom Dostoevskogo were perfectly friendly and respectful. Единственное достоинство отеля - его местоположение, практически в центре. Номера в ужасном состоянии - очень старая мебель, помимо 2-х оноспальных кроватей в номере стоял очень пыльный диван (лучше бы его не было вообще), стул с разводами непонятного происхождения, на который было страшно садиться и класть вещи, непродуманная обстановка (работать за письменным столом можно было только сидя на одной из кроватей, чтобы подключить ноутбук к розетке, пришлось немало попередвигать мебель, добравшись наконец до нее, мы увидели толстенный слой пыли, видимо мы первые, кто ее вообще обнаружил). Все это мелочи, но они создали кучу неудобств, и это можно было бы понять, если бы это был бюджетный вариант. Но, заплатив 4500 рублей за одну ночь, хотелось бы увидеть что-то более достойное.
