Hotel Carris Porto Ribeira

I really liked the location of Hotel Carrís Porto Ribeira, it’s perfect for exploring the city and enjoying the atmosphere of Porto. The room view wasn’t exactly as described, but it was still quite nice overall. The room itself was comfortable and well designed, and the facilities are really cute and enjoyable, with a lot of potential. Overall, it was a pleasant stay.

Unfortunately, I didn’t appreciate the attitude of some of the reception staff at Hotel Carrís Porto Ribeira. At times, they seemed annoyed and bothered by requests for help or basic services. There was also a lack of any real welcome to the city, no suggestions on what to visit, see, or do in Porto, which was disappointing for a hotel in such a central location. We were also asked to pay a fee to store our luggage at the end of our stay, even after having fully paid for the room, which felt unnecessary and a bit unreasonable. The view from the hotel was not what was described on the website, at least not from the room we were assigned. Additionally, while the sheets were probably clean, they had visible stains that remained throughout our entire stay, which gave the impression that they hadn’t been changed. This was quite disappointing and affected our overall comfort.

Måtte opgradere til et standard værelse, for det værelse jeg havde booket med udsigt var kun på 9m2. Alt for lille til at kunne bo der i 2 dage.

The location is fantastic and the rooms are good but could do with some TLC. Just slightly tatty in places. Despite my adverse comments below I would stay again as the location is so good and the beds are comfortable. Read the room descriptions carefully as we have stayed twice and some of the rooms are very small.

Housekeeping is ludicrously late. We were out all day and came back about 4:30 and our room had not been serviced, We wanted some quiet time and showers and just had to manage without service. The hotel also does not provide drinking water free of charge but charges 3 euros for a small plastic bottle in the minibar. Bearing in mind the cost this is an unfortunate economy. Similarly with tea and coffee. They act like a budget hotel. 2 coffee pods are provided and any extras used have to be paid for. Why bother with a coffee machine if you don't want to provide pods.
