Lakeview Guest House

It was my third stay at the Lakeview Guest House and I definitely would recommend it as a great place to stay at. Elaine was as friendly as ever and the location is perfect for both walking along the shore and exploring nearby attractions.

The room that I was staying at was on the small side, but it was manageable. A very comfy bed more than made up for it anyway.

Everything was perfect, we had the whole top floor and it was amazing.

Great host! Perfect vegan cooked breakfast. Secure bike storage. Fabulous accommodation well located for exploring. Great welcome dram!

I was contacted by Elaine several days before my stay to confirm my arrival time and provide some travel directions and parking guidance. When I arrived, I managed to park on the street more or less at the front door. Not that parking was ever going to be an issue with a huge public car park directly across the road with both car park and on street parking being free. Upon arrival, I was met by Alan who kindly got me booked in and shown to my room. This place has a Tardis like affect! Not much to look at from the outside but you're eyes are immediately opened when you get inside. Not what I was expecting and pleasantly surprised. I was travelling for work and had a single room with ensuite shower room. The room was clean, spacious enough for my needs and the bed was very comfortable. I slept well throughout my 2 night stay. Plenty of complementary tea & coffee in the room as well as a small decanter of whisky if you're so inclined! A very nice touch although I didn't partake! Decoration throughout, including my room has a feel of a higher end Scottish themed hotel. It was quirky and homely. Breakfast was nothing less than fantastic and cooked to perfection and both Elaine & Alan were very friendly and engaging.The perfect hosts. For overalls value and just about everything else you could need for a stay in Stranraer, you'll be hard pressed to get better than Lakeview Guest House.

There was nothing not to like. This place exceeded expectations.
