The Bridge House Henley

It's relatively well furnished inside, but the negatives are so many that the positives make no real difference.

No staff on site, can only contact by email or voicemail during stay (explictly state they dont answer telephone) - messaged on Booking.com at 9.23am after first night, followed up leaving a voicemail at 10:38am, then with an email at 12.34 - finally heard back 1:36pm - so, over 4hrs after first attempt - I then responded and never heard back again before departure despite spending another whole night at the property - imagine your electronic room lock or something didn't work on arrival - you'd be sleeping in your car. Car park is too small, 5 cars max for 8 rooms (I'm assuming 8 as we were #8), rest told to park in the public car park and walk (imagine that in the rain) - only told after booking and cancellation period had passed - despite car park being inadequate signs explicitly state they take no responsibility for damage (see other reviews about car park entrance and resultsnt damage). You have a choice of a) a room with road noise; or b) a room with road noise and lights on all night right outside the windows - even the rooms they state as being away from the road (such as #8, our room) arent - there are bisy roads on all sides, and your head is literally 2 meters from the road when sleeping even in the room #8 that they state had no road noise (which is just not true) - worst still, on the side away from the road, its the car park, which has lights on all night thay just happen to be exactly at window height and apparentely (according to them) they cant turn off - would be ok if theyd fitted their blackout blinds properly, but like so much with this property, it wasnt done correctly..

Very clean, with good shower. Easy walk to eateries and the high street.

The room was quite small, but adequate for short stay

Beautifully furnished, lots of lovely little touches like the luxury handwash, thoughtful tea tray etc
