Somerton Lodge Hotel

We really enjoyed our stay, great location less than 10 mins walk from the centre and in a very peaceful area. The Bus to Ryde or Newport stopped right outside. The staff were friendly and helpful and there was a very large lounge for guests to use. The room was comfortable and clean and the room rate was very reasonable compared to other hotels in Shanklin, we would definitely return.

Staff were very friendly on arrival. Option of a really good breakfast, however if you like mushrooms (as I do) they are not an option. Its not too far to walk to other places for breakfast but you will struggle to get better value than the one you get at Sumerton Lodge.

A beautiful House with a lovely host. I recieved a warm welcome and as I was staying 2 weeks I was given a double room instead of the single. The room was comfy and although the bathroom was a bit small it served a purpose. I would be more than happy to recommend it and it would be a priviledge to stay there again

Room was comfortable and quiet - bathroom was functional but very small - Breakfast was really nice and freshly prepared - Hosts were very helpful and knowledgeable about the area - we spent 3 nights here and found this to be a great place to stay with off street free parking supplied - our double bed was perhaps a little past it’s use by date - we booked and stayed in a superior room so though it may have also been a Queen size

An enjoyable two night stay. The twin room was basic but clean and quiet. The public areas of the hotel were very nice and the hosts especially friendly and helpful. Breakfasts were good value for £10 and in the evening a short walk into Shanklin offered plenty of dining options.

There is no elevator and no resaurant. the host offered to get something in for me to eat but it was not far to a nice restaurant she suggested. Breakfast was a full English - more than I could eat so had 1/2 the nexxt day. No bar but pub close by. Bux to everywhere on the island just outside the door. Lovely and relaxing stay - I would stay there again and again if I could.

Ann and John were very welcoming and pleasant. Nothing was too much trouble. Hotel was very clean and we were made to feel at home
