Hotel Pooja Palace

Not alot to like about this hotel apart from the location a convenient 5 min walk from the Metro station.

Where do I start....on arrival the grunting reception guy admonished me for my late arrival (which I had notified them of previously via 3 communications on booking.com). I was given a room that had obviously just been vacated and left - complete with ruffled sheets, hairs on the bed, filthy bathroom etc. When I complained I was moved to another room which was fractionally cleaner. There was still mould in the bathroom, the floor was dirty, sheets and towels were grey. The room wasn't serviced at any stage in my 3 night stay. At one stage I asked for more towels - none ever came. Why on earth Intrepid use this hotel as their tour base in Delhi I have no idea.

The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. I felt safe being a solo traveler. They even went above and beyond to accommodate my flight change with a late checkout at the spare moment. The food was served fast.

The staff were excellent and helpful.

Tired worn out furniture and bedding. Room smelt vaguely of mould and fried fish. Grey sheets, grubby bathroom, blackened shower rose, old thin towels. Everything could do with a really good clean.
