Arcade Hotel

The kind receptionist brought us some water to drink while we were trying to find a room elsewhere. Our stay coincided with the worst of the heatwave.

We had booked a standard double room. We expected it to look like the photos on the website. However, we were given a very small dark attic room on the top floor. The temperature outside was about 37C, the temperature in the room even higher. No fan. I thought that it was unsafe to stay in this sweat box. We certainly wouldn’t have slept. It also resembled a student flat rather than a hotel. We asked to be moved. We were shown another room, almost identical on the same floor. We were told this was the only other room available. Booking.com’s website said that 5 were available. It was clear that we were getting nowhere so we stayed in reception long enough to book a room around the corner at Holiday Inn Express. We have asked for a refund, but no success so far. However, it was bad enough that we were prepared, if worst came to the worst, to forfeit that money, so as not to risk getting heat stroke. I should add that the keycard for the room we were given didn’t work. Also the down button in the lift had to be pressed several times to get it to work. Overall, this place reminded me of cheap student accommodation.

Zimmer: keine aircon, Bad schmutzig, blindouts nicht funktional, tissues nicht nachgefüllt, Gästemappe verschlissen, Zimmerausweis schon zigmal benutzt

Gute Lage, bequeme Buchung

Keine Entschuldigung der Rezeption, kein Angebot der Kompensarion.. trotz des wahren Berichts meinerseits, dass nachts jemamd in mein Zimmer gekommen ist.. wohlgemerkt war das ein Gast, der einen Generalschlüssel bekommen hatte.. und der dann mindestens 2 falsche Türen damit geöffnet hat. Man konnte von innen auch nicht zusätzlich abschliessen. Wenn die Schlösser angepasst werden sollten, bestimmt eine gute zentrale Übernachtungsmöglichkeit.

Sehr gut war daß Frühstücksbuffet. Reichlich Auswahl und alles frisch. Hervorzuheben ist das Frühstückspersonal,welches ständig nachlegt und sehr Aufmerksam ist.

Sauberkeit des Badezimmers war grenzwertig.Natürlich sehr schwierig bei älterer Duschkabine mit Schiebetüren,aber der Fußboden in den Ecken kann trotzdem sauber sein. Klobrille war locker,Klobürstenaufnahme ohne Worte.Da muss man halt auch interesse haben zu reinigen.
