"Very nice stay to break our journey for a night."

Booked the hotel as it has outside space to wander so not limited to hotel building. Weather was good so sat with a drink on very nice terrace with view of trees.

Difficult to find the hotel. Although we were very close at one time we still couldn't find hotel entrance only the country park. This could be remedied by adding a few directions to the website or on an email. The hotel is historically interesting and can see why it is probably popular for weddings etc. however it is need of some repairs and decorating. Needs investment to make it really good.

"Great to look at, very old but out dated, dusty."

Great Old style English statley home, fantastic to look at (not to close)

Squeeky floor boads but its an old house, inch of dust on wardrobe, random screw on bathroom floor, booked month in advance £120! 1 day before stay £80!...

"Good value 2-night break."

The historic building and sympathetic styling was very attractive. The room was clean. The staff were very welcoming. We ate in the restaurant and were happy with the quality of the food and value for money.

The furniture was marked and in need of refreshing.

"Pleasant stay in an old historic county manor."

Beautiful building etched in history set in a secluded country park North of Nottingham city. The decor and design is of an era set back in time. Room was a little tired however it was pleasant enough for the purpose it serves.

"A fabulous building and location, but needs some a lot of updating."

It is an amazing building in a lovely location. Walks on the doorstep. Excellent staff and room cleanliness was good. Breakfast selection was good.

Old furniture and damaged furniture. No lift (with an elderly relative). Not much attention at breakfast - cold coffee, no cups. Beautiful views of the gardens but through dirty windows.

Decent sized room. Comfy bed. Staff helpful when TV did not work. The fact that the rooms are gradually being upgraded means that we will visit again if in the area.

This is out of the control of the hotel, but littering was noticeable in the surrounds. Such a shame for such a lovely venue.
