The Thredbo Alpine Hotel is in a prime location for enjoying Mount Kosciuszko. We found the front desk staff to be friendly and accommodating. We visited in February for an opportunity to climb to the summit of. Mount Kosciuszko. Upon check-in, the front desk, staff offered multiple recommendations for dinner that evening. We went to “the local pub“ and we’re lucky to be there on a Thursday because that is when they have Thursday night trivia. The vibe was lively and fun and the MC of the trivia night was very energetic. The food was good, but not fine dining The staff also offered suggestions for getting to the start of the climb and how to navigate the chairlift for the descent. The hotel sits directly across the street from the entrance to the mountain, including the chairlift and the beginning of the mountain climb The temperatures were quite warm at that time of year. After checking out, the staff allowed us to keep our extra gear and food behind the desk instead of keeping it in our car while we climbed. The rooms were clean and well appointed with coffee maker, fan and refrigerator. Ice was available down the hall. There were plenty of pillows, and the bed was comfortable.

Because it was hot, we would have appreciated an air conditioner in the room

The hotel is perfectly located and the staff are pleasant and helpful.

The property is shabby and tired. It needs major refurbishment.

Love the old vibes of the place and it is well looked after

I know the rooms are made for warm winters but it was so hot without air con in the room during the day and couldn’t open the windows because of the afternoon sun.
