MOOSEJAW INN

Poor location

We had a HORRIFIC stay in this hotel last week. We were driving through to Manitoba and the roads were very bad. Shortly after midnight, the highways were closed eastbound due to an accident. We called every hotel in town and everything was booked due to a hockey tournament. We found 1 room left at this hotel. We check in around 1am with our very little children to the separate building. There was NO HEAT and it was -8. We called the front desk and were told that they try to give out space heaters, but the breakers keep getting flipped and there was no space heaters left. The window heater in the room was blowing freezing cold air from outside into the room. With no other vacancies and a closed highway, we bundled our children in snow suits and tried to get a few hours sleep while we waited for the highway to open. We ended up taking turns cycling from our truck with the engine running and the hotel room before we were able to get back on the road first thing in the morning. In addition to the lack of heat, we could hear mice in the ceiling and the walls all not long. My children were terrified and crying through the entire experience. The rooms were FILTHY. The back of the toilet was also spewing water out onto the floor when flushed so we had to use the toilet without flushing. In addition, the beds didn't even have proper fitted sheets with elastics. They just had flat sheets that weren't secured to the mattresses that slipped off and revealed the heavily soiled mattresses below. I cannot believe this business is even operational. We were in the room from about 1am to 7am as we wanted to complain when the desk opened at 7am. We had paid $150. The girl told us she had to wait for management to deal with our complaint. A few days later they called back to say that they would give 30%. I said given the safety concerns I wanted a full refund. They refused the full refund and then took back the offer for 30%. I will do everything I can to have the business accountable. I will be following up with my complaint to business licensing of moose jaw, OH&S, the BBB, and any other platform I can find. No one should be subject to this horrific experience again. STAY CLEAR!!!!!!!!!!

I could have my dog at the motel

Everything else! Because I had my dog with me, I was given a room in the unrenovated building. The room was the most disgusting room I have ever stayed at. I would have switched rooms, but I checked in late, so the staff locked up before I got to see my room. There was blood stains in the lampshade! Carpet (dark green) which I wouldn't let my dog sleep on . The chairs were stained ..the bathroom was filthy.

Absolutely disgusting cesspool of a place. Bugs everywhere, holes in the wall, gaps in the door frame, unsafe location, no grass for pets, noncuwtomer service skills whatsoever. I couldn't be more disgusted and angry over the entire experience. We stayed 20 minutes, and left the book elsewhere. They refused our refund request even though we complained and left. Worst part of our vacation by far. DO NOT STAY HERE.
