Tune Hotel - Waterfront Kuching

At first I had a terrible impression of the hotel. My room #247 was not acceptable. Upon my arrival, the floor was filthy (housekeeping came and swept it upon my request and she swept up quite a bit of dirt), the safe did not work, the bathroom ceiling leaked making the floor a wet mess, and the air conditioner did not work. Maintenance person Hafiz came to my rescue! He went downstairs and took care of switching my room for me, moving my luggage to the new room #116 and making sure everything in it worked properly. If it were not for him, I would be very unhappy with the check-in at the hotel. I was very upset with the first room, especially staying for 9 nights, but Hafiz helping me by arranging the new room made me happy again. After several days in the new room, it became apparent that it also had issues. The bathroom smelled like the sewer and it permeated the entire room, and the electricity in the room would go out multiple times per day. Also although the room was cleaned everything day, some days they gave me no bottled water or toilet paper, and some days they did not sweep. I would not stay here again.

We had an encounter where we were not given the aircon remote. And when they do gave us the remote it was of a different brand!! Of course the remote (General) won’t work with our room aircon (York). They had to go back and change the remote which took quite a while.

It’s very close to the Waterfront, clustered among other hotels. Walking distance to nearby food areas, and other streets. I spend most of the time in Kuching walking from the hotel, and really loved the location. Only thing I’d like to highlight is that the hotel is situated on a slope, so for some people it may be inconvenient, it wasn’t an issue for me. After a good meal at the Waterfront, walking back to the hotel sure helps. Overall, I really had no issues with the hotel and it’s facilities. It was great.

Staff could spend extra time emptying Rubbish bins in reception which were overflowing. But on the whole good experience, very well placed

sound prove not so good, the bed is soft and not really have good sleep..

Nearly didn't get the parking the night we stayed. Luckily we get a spot after we get back from dinner.

The location is good. However, the water heater sometimes working and sometimes not. Certain days, it is totally not working. Air-con, is not working at all. Lucky there is the fan to use. There is no floor mat to wipe the feet.

Perfectly serviceable hotel. Room was cheap, shower was hot and refreshing, bed was alright, AC was cold. That's all I was looking for. Room was quite small, but since it was just a short one day solo trip that was perfectly alright with me! Right on the Waterfront area, so there was plenty of cool stuff to see and do. Would definitely recommend.

Ok for a one night stay; use as transit to other locations like Mulu Caves. Conveniently located along the waterfront.
