Hotel Cava Dell'Isola

Teresa, Maurizio and Mario go out of their way to create a positive guest experience - the breakfast is generous and varied (and they were so considerate of my sister's dietary requirements), they were always willing to help - offering local insights, including ringing to book dinner and providing directions. Loved the beach umbrella provided with the room, and appreciated beach towels being provided on request. Would highly recommend sunset drinks on the rooftop in the afternoon, Mario makes a mean cocktail!

The location is both a blessing and a curse - the beautiful view and direct beach access is because the property is located at the bottom of an escarpment, but it also makes access (especially without a car) a bit challenging as people have mentioned in other reviews.

La struttura si trova a 20 minuti dal centro di Forio, 10 minuti dalla fermata del bus e a 10 minuti dai Giardini Termali Poseidon. La struttura è molto accogliente, il personale ci ha fatto sentire davvero a casa, tutti super gentili. Colazione ottima e vista mozzafiato.

Thank you for the most amazing week, Hotel Cava dell Isola! The accommodation here was super clean and good-sized, and our room had a large balcony with expansive sea views. It was steps to the beach (our favourite on the island) as well as La Capanna, a fantastic restaurant that served amazing pizzas, pasta and bruschetta on its wide balcony by the sea. We went there nearly every day. Throughout our stay we were blown away by the amazing level of service/kindness, at this family-run hotel, given its mere three star rating. It far exceeded most of the 5-star hotels we've stayed at. Each morning at Hotel Cava dell'Isola began with a wonderful breakfast of cooked eggs, good coffee and fresh orange juice (made by the wonderful Mario), fresh fruit, toast and Italian cakes. To close each day we enjoyed sunset drinks by the sea on our balcony, (fantastic negronis and aperol spritzes) made by Mario and Maurizio, who delivered them to us from their hotel bar upstairs (which had a fantastic bar overlooking the sea). My wife had an injury and was on crutches throughout our stay; we were also travelling with a baby: to assist, hotel co-owner, Teresa generously dropped us to the top of the road in her car whenever we needed to go into town (there is a climb of 60 stairs to the road for the bus/car park/walk into Forio). She also dropped us to the ferry in Forio upon our departure. Lina, the hotel's housekeeper, brought my wife dressings of aloe vera and potato peels to heal her burned feet (which happened a few days prior walking on Fumarole beach!), which worked a treat. She also washed our clothes and doted on our little boy, River. Giusy was a terrific host and helped us no end with local tips and navigating the hospital system on the island after my wife's treatment for burns in the previous days. We would rate this place 10 stars if we could, and hope others won't hesitate to book their holiday here!
