Amicus Hotel

The room we were in (No.2) is large, has a separate seating area with a desk, chair, armchair, and a sofa-bed, plus a large wardrobe. There wasn't a fridge which we found strange for a hotel at this price point, but when we asked staff if they could put my wife's medication in a fridge for us they told me I could take one from another room if I was willing to carry it myself. Fair enough. Problem sorted, though I do find it odd some rooms have fridges and others don't, but in fairness the room description doesn't list a fridge, so it was good they allowed me to get one from another room (though it would have been fine for them to just store my wife's meds for us in their own fridge, other places have been happy to do that for us). The bathroom is a good size and the shower pressure was good. The windows are a good size. The area is quite quiet. The bed is firm but comfy enough. On site parking though limited spaces.

OK, so this place gets the lowest rating possible from me. I have never ever given any place the lowest rating possible, and that's after staying/visiting/eating at and reviewing over 200 different places, you can check my other reviews here and on google, I'm generally pretty positive about most places and try to give balanced and fair reviews. So why then does this place get the ignomonious honour of being the first? Well, I'm writing this review on our last night of our 3 night stay here, and up until now it was going to get a 5, just average, not bad, not good. It could be good with some small tweaks, but we'll get to that. The knob to turn the shower from the hand shower to the overhead was incredibly stiff. There is no aircon and so I do expect the rooms get quite hot in summer (we're here beginning of May so not too bad) especially as the towel rail heater cannot be switched off and so radiates heat constantly. The doors are old school lock and key jobs and so you physically have to lock the door yourself when coming and going and even when you're inside the room as there is no latch or easy turn lock. The breakfast is... Not great. I wouldn't say it was terrible, and it's serves a purpose I guess, but it's nothing to get excited over, I'm not sure why so may reviews say it's really good, perhaps they serve a better more expansive breakfast in peak season when more guests are staying, but currently it's just a small continental style breakfast with usually only 1 or 2 different types of each thing, plus the hot food which had 3 or 4 different item, only 1 or 2 of which I would say were worth the stomach space.

Staff and breakfast is very good. Restoran is working in the evening with very affordable prices.

Room furniture is very strange, Bathroom is quite old. No automatic dispenser for shampoo or bodywash

Неприятно было узнать,что стоимость завтрака не входит в общую стоимость,о чём не было отмечено при бронировании
