This was our second stay at the Sawmills, the staff , the room and the service continue to be excellent. We will continue to stay at the Sawmills when next return to North Devon for its location and for its value for money. Only criticism would be to offer a non cooked breakfast such as porridge or cereal plus orange juice , evening meals could be improved to offer fresh season vegetables rather than chips. A most enjoyable stay.
Lovely pub and comfortable room. Small en-suite. The breakfast didn’t have a continental option but the cooked breakfast was excellent. The evening meals served in the pub were outstanding and all the staff were welcoming and friendly
Stayed for 4 nights in early June .Visited ILFRACOMBE and Woolacombe both of which we thought were very run down .Also visitedLinton and Lynmouth on the coastal bus.,Really enjoyed that day ,those places were bustling with holiday makers ,just like places used to be
The whole experience was very good. Staff friendly and service excellent. Food excellent. Room excellent - beds very comfortable. All recently refurbished and spot on! A great stay and we would both highly recommend this accommodation Bron and Angus
Clean and tidy
Friendly staff, clean very tidy rooms, breakfast was more than ample and cooked to perfection we had two evening meals at the in house restaurant which was also cooked to perfection and well priced, the chef was very experienced and cooked to exact standards, definitely stop there again and would throughly recommend to others.

A clean and tidy room with a modern open building including the dining area and bar. Very busy when we were there and staff pressed with new young employees in training. Food as expected, whilst no cereals with breakfast - the full English was perfect. Friendly staff on the whilst but one member (they will know who they are) has a lot to learn when dealing with customers.
My wife and i had a 5 night break here in the dog friendly room 2. The weather was excellent which did mean we could get the most out of the area. The room was perfectly clean and modern and enough space even with a dog crate. The room is not serviced but you can ask for items (milk etc) when needed. Staff were all very nice and helpful. We ate in for 3 nights and all the meals were perfect. We had the full English (and meat free option) every day. It was so good and plentiful that we barely bought lunch all week. Plenty of parking, good sitting out area in full evening sun (if its out), walks from the door. Watermouth Castle is definately worth a visit and a must do with children, and the 301 bus stop is right outside. Watermouth Bay is a pretty harbour with super family run cafe, but note that this is not a sandy beach. A very nice place to stay.
