Ellerbrook House

The people who own it are very friendly, extremely welcoming, and helpful, it's a lovely b&b would definitely recommend, will be staying again very soon, its situated close to windermere town and there's a bus route into bowness and ulverston aswell just down the road, from the b&b, there are plenty of places to eat and drink, there's a few shops if you need basics. Windermere is a lovely walk from the b&b as is bowness, there's a lovely library for the children just down the road from the b&b and plenty of places to visit in and around windermere, bowness and ulverston.

The staff is very friendly, I requested to check in at 7-8pm, but for some reason I decided to leave my luggage at the guest house at 3pm. And the guest house staff allowed us to do so, even when checking out was the same. comfortable environment and very reasonable price, will definitely come back again!

I had an excellent stay at Ellerbrook House. It’s conveniently located a block away from the Windermere High Street. I was able to walk into town every night with a great choice of local cafes, restaurants and pubs. My room was fantastic. To my surprise I had what looks like a new but very large bed. My room was completely renovated. New bathroom fittings good water pressure. I was on the top floor and found it very quiet at night and it was well heated. My room was made up every day too. Lastly, the best bit! The breakfast!!! 3 days in a row I had the full English Breakfast. Really fantastic. Served out in a nice downstairs front room with fresh cereals, juices and coffee. Also interestingly enough even the place mats were good, made of local slate. I’d stay again and so should you.

Hosts were very friendly. Breakfast was great. Room was comfortable and warm, with good little en suite bathroom. Good access to public transport: short walk to bus stops (599 bus every 20min to Bowness, Ambleside, Grasmere, 555 bus to Keswick and Kendal at rail station; no opinion on the #6), and just over 10 mins walk to the railway station (3h 17m to London Euston via Kendal and Lancaster).

The beds were clean and comfortable.

The bed was close to the roof, so it was easy to bump one's head. The bathroom is extremely small (so small it doesn't have a sink) and the doorknob sticks, which makes it easy to get locked in the bathroom. Also, the family room is not suitable for elderly people because of the amount of stairs. The website states that free breakfast is provided. However we were not offered any breakfast.

Lovely little property. We had a visitor from Australia who also loved the place. Great breakfast too
