Hotel Schloß Gehrden

The staff were extremely friendly and also always ready to help. The grounds are pretty impressive. The breakfast buffet was very complete with something for everyone’s taste. Even for those who don’t wish to eat meats or milk products (nuts, seeds and dried fruits, grains, honey and hot water).

I found that the room we were in was quite noisy but once everyone settled in for the night it was OK. Something that really shocked me was that across the road from the hotel (past the lama’s), there are pigs stuffed away in a dark holding area. The smell is so foul and their screams are so heartbreaking that I cannot forget this horrible abuse. You can even smell it from the hotel parking.

Es ist ein schönes Hotel. Für den Preis hätten wir gerne gesehen, daß complementary Wasser und vielleicht noch Kaffee und Tee im Zimmer wären. Das hätte es noch angenehmer gemacht.

There is always a good buffet choice and plenty of coffee.
